Tissue paper pompoms aren't only fun to make they add a elegant touch to any room. They are great for kids bedrooms or just a decoration for the dining room table. Tissue paper pompoms are a great family crafty activity but would not be suggested for children under the age of 6 . This article will show you how to make tissue paper pompoms.

Steps

  1. Have ten or more 20-26" inch tissue paper. It doesn't matter the color. The best places to get tissue paper are: GIANT, AC Moore, Michaels, and craft stores. In many stores you can find it in the packaging section where the wrapping paper is.
  2. Combine the pieces together on a flat surface ( fairly large countertop) and accordion fold together starting from the shorter side. Make sure the fold is creased and about 1-11/2 inch wide. Fold as if you were making a paper fan.
  3. Once all the folding is finished use floral wire and secure the now folded papers. Loop the wire around the center of the folded papers and twist.
  4. Carefully pull one by one the pieces of paper to the center fluffing up as you go. Be careful the tissue paper rips easily! only do about half of the papers on each side so you end up with a ball.
  5. Once you do a half on one side flip it over and repeat on the other side.
  6. Once you are finished admire your fancy work and adjust as you need to to make you beautiful pompom the best it can be!
  7. If you would like to hang your piece of art you can use clear fishing line to add the floating effect.

Tips

  • Be careful when pulling the tissues
  • if you do rip one don't freak out all you need to do is, if the tear is big you just tear the rest off. It won't be noticeable. But if it is minor you don't need to do anything.
  • sometimes this takes practice and patience.
  • have fun!

Warnings

  • If you have a pet cat don't expect the pompoms to stay. They may be recognized as a toy to any pet!
