Did you ever want to make some play money just for fun? Well, now you can follow these steps! You can also use this for board games if you choose.

Steps

  1. Use the blank printer paper, and trace a 1 dollar bill outline.
  2. Write the denomination in numerals on 7 out of the eight corners (3 for the front, 4 for the back)
  3. Draw a frame inside the bills, front/back, leaving about 1/2 centimeters in the frame.
  4. (front)Draw someone's head on in the middle, or one of the ends. Label what his or her name is.
  5. (front)Write the date this was made, what city, and what country.(You don't have to write the real date and place, you can make it seem like it came somewhere else).
  6. (front)Add a serial code, something like K57988640J.
  7. Put some pretty designs in the frame, front and back.
  8. (back)Put the country motto on the top-middle.
  9. (back)Label the country and denomination again
  10. (back)Draw something your country is proud of, fill up the backside. (for America, a bald eagle soaring through the sky would be good)
  11. Color both sides.
  12. Scan it in the computer and make copies if you want!
  13. Cut it out.

Tips

  • If you choose a different date/country, make it look like it really did come from then/there. If you picked 3000 A.D as the time, you may want to make it look robotic, add a fake antennae, if you picked Egypt as the country, translate the words into Arabic and put a tiny bit of artificial sand on it.
  • You may want to look at some real currency to get ideas if you're stuck.
  • Draw/write your best, you don't want it sloppy.
  • You may want to laminate this so you can preserve it.

Warnings

  • Do not try to pass this off as real money. This is a crime everywhere. Even if the handler can tell you're only joking, they may call the authorities, and you could be arrested and if found guilty in court, you will be heavily fined.
