Making a drum set out of styrofoam plates is an easy activity for pre-school children. This article explains how to achieve this. If you're a teacher or parent who tries this, please consider taking photos of your crafting and add them here to help others follow it more easily!
Steps
-
Get a normal styrofoam plate and place it on a hard, flat surface(a.k.a, table), for a snare.
-
Get one or two small styrofoam dishes for a different sounding snare.
-
Get another plate and use one to three straws, pencils, etc., to hold the plate up. This will become a 'tom'.
-
Use two unsharpened pencils for the drumsticks and bang away!
ETips
- It helps if you keep all the drums on the same surface.
- If your drum breaks, tape it from the bottom, not the top.
- Don't bang too hard, but bang hard enough that it sounds like a drum.
Things You'll Need
- 2 styrofoam plates
- 1-2 styrofoam dishes
- 2 straight objects
- 2 new, unsharpened pencils
