This origami dog is very easy to make, even for a beginner, and can be explained in the simplest manner.
Steps
-
Have a sheet of paper shaped as a square. This can be in any color you choose. You can make a square from normal letter-sized paper, or have origami paper that already come in squares.
-
Fold the top left corner to meet the bottom right corner. This gives you a triangle.
-
Fold the bottom left corner of your new triangle inside towards the triangle (about 1 cm in). This will be the tail of the dog. Now put this part aside.
-
For the head, repeat Steps 1 and 2 using another piece of paper. It is important to make sure that it is the same size as the first.
-
With the right angle of the triangle pointed towards the bottom right, fold that corner behind.
-
Fold the top corner and the bottom left corner in towards the triangle. These two flaps should look somewhat like ears. It should give you a "hexagon-like" shape.
-
Take the first triangle. Insert the top point into the bottom of the head.
Tips
- When you make the folds, make sure the creases are nice and crisp.
- Decorate your dog with fun colors.
- You can draw the eyes, nose, etc. to make it look real!
- Don't crease it until you are sure it is in the right spot.
- You should not use flabby or weak paper, otherwise your dog will not stand properly. Also, do not use paper that is too thick or it will not fold correctly.
- Consider using recycled paper; it's better for the environment.
Warnings
- Beware of paper cuts!
- Don't cut yourself with the scissors.
