Have you ever tried to fold origami out of aluminum? It gets ripped and doesn't fold right most of the time. If you want to fix this than use these simple tricks.
Steps
-
Use a ruler for measuring the squares or rectangles.
-
Cut with a sharpened razor blade or knife.(scissors will not work very well!)
-
When you cut, cut along the edge of the ruler.
-
Do not fold the same fold more than once! this will rip your foil!(however, if you do than follow step five.)
-
Glue a piece of paper to the bottom: It will hold it together and allow you to fold more that once on one fold.
-
Once done: don't mess with it.
-
If it rips, don't tape it; just throw it away: It's a lot of brain damage just to try and fix it.
-
Get thicker foil(it might be more expensive but it will still work better)
-
Be patient: you might not get it right the first time.
Tips
- Try folding with larger sizes first.
- Master the crane before doing any modular origami.
Warnings
