Steps
-
Find a dollar bill. Any bill will do, but the fresher and crisper the bill is, the easier the turtle is to make. The value is your choice.
-
Take a corner and fold it into the bill, making a triangle. Crease (fold down so it will make a line in the bill) Unfold.
-
Repeat with the closest corner. Crease. Unfold.
-
Fold the side of the bill back so the "x" is "creased" in half. Unfold.
-
Press the new line in so the side of the bill forms a point.
-
Repeat steps 2-5 on the opposite side of the bill.
-
Fold the bill in half and "crease" the excess.
-
Unfold with the excess "creased" back.
-
Flip the bill to the side where the back is visible. Note the side the "pocket" is on.
-
Flip the bill back over. Take one of the corners and fold it so that it will be visible on the other side.
-
Repeat with the other corner on the "pocket side."
-
Repeat steps 8 and 9 on the other side.
-
Fold back the sides about one quarter of the way.
-
Flip the bill back over. You now have a money origami turtle!
