Turn a map you no longer need into an envelope that's fun to read. These are also known as "mapelopes".

Steps

  1. Gently peel apart the glued flaps of the unused envelope and unfold it.
  2. Lay the unfolded envelope face down on the map and trace around it. then cut the envelope shape out of the map.
  3. Fold and glue this cutout shape in all the same places the original envelope was folded and glued.
  4. Put your letter inside and glue the top flap down. Stick the mailing label on the front. Write your friend's or family member's name & address on the label, then add a stamp and send the letter on its way.
  5. Finished.

Tips

  • You don't have to use a map - you could use decorated paper or any other type of paper.
