Folding paper into three is usually a technique used for brochures, invitations and fliers. More often than not a way for people to pack information into a piece of paper since folding paper into three can give you six spaces, three spaces on the front of it and three spaces on the back. And of course a plus is that it is a more professional way to present information rather than folding a paper in half or leaving it as it is. For this technique use high quality papers that you can easily fold to achieve your desired result.

Steps

    • Hold the paper on its left and right side with both your hands. Make sure though you are holding it on top of a flat surface or on top of a table.
    • Fold first 1/3 of the left side of the paper or the right side, whichever you think is most comfortable to you. Then fold the 1/3 side halfway of your left-over space. Fold the paper in such a way that you don’t crease over it as shown on the illustration.
    • Fold the other side on top of the other. Make sure that each side is folded equally and if not adjust your folds accordingly.
    • Check to see if the fold are equal. If you think the sides you have folded are equally balanced and even the spaces on the paper resulting from the fold are equal then press the folded paper. Press the paper with your fingers starting from the top of the paper all the way down.
    • Subsequently repeat the previous process of pressing the folds. However this time press the bottom part of the paper toward its upper part.
    • Open your folded paper and you have folded a paper into three. Apply this technique to your brochures, invitations and fliers.
