This insertion from the Thérèse de Dillmont needlework collection requires the use of two shuttles and makes use of the scalloped picot.
Steps

Begin with one thread and one shuttle and make a ring, as in Tat a Scallop With Picots and Make a Scalloped Picot Tatted Insertion (De Dillmont).
- Make a second close to the first.

Pass the thread over the left hand. Take the second shuttle in the right hand and make 6 double on the 2nd thread, after which you again make a ring above and one below with one shuttle only.
