Kids love to play with goo. Goo is yucky, messy, sticky, gummy, runny, smelly concoction that adults call "disgusting" when they try to clean it up. Children have always enjoyed playing with goo! Making goo is great for a rainy day when kids are bored and for the little ones to play with.

Steps

  1. Gather your ingredients. The great thing about goo is that it's simple to make , all you need is cornflour and water!
  2. Put the cornflour into the bowl. First, to make your goo, you should get your cornflour and put some of it in a bowl. There really is no set amount of cornflour to add to your goo; it depends on how thick you want your goo to be or how thin you want your goo to be. Be careful not to make it too thick or too thin.
  3. Add the water. Add some water to the bowl of cornflour and mix until it is thick (with no clumps). If you think that the goo is too thin, just add more flour to thicken it.
  4. Add some color. Add some food coloring to your goo and stir it. Now you have colored goo putty. Be careful not to splash the goo on you.
  5. Store it. After you've finished making your goo, store it in a sealable Ziploc bag so that the goo doesn't dry out.

Tips

  • For older children, repeat steps 1-4 with 1/4 cup of liquid starch and 4 ounces of liquid glue instead of water and cornflour.
  • Another option is using Corn Starch with water, this creates a goo that will feel hard when you (quickly) poke it, and be gooey when you push (slowly) into it or let it drip/ooze between your fingers, and when you roll it between your hands (like dough) it feels rubbery.
  • Create different figures from the goo and have fun with it.
  • Purchase a few different food colors and have the child pick the color she/he wants to add to the goo.

Warnings

  • Do not eat!
  • Older children can be left with it alone but, try not to get it on your clothes. It doesn't come off!
  • Always supervise little children as they play with this.
