You've seen Oobleck in Dr. Seuss's book, "Bartholemew and the Oobleck", but you probably have always wanted to make some. Here you can make a small batch of Oobleck for yourself whenever you are bored, and you can make it with school glue and other simple materials!

Steps

  1. Put one tablespoon of school glue in one of the plastic cups. Then put one tablespoon of water in the same cup. Mix them together very well.
  2. If you like, now is the time to add food coloring. Only a few drops are needed, more than six drops and the Oobleck will stain your hands.
  3. Put 1 1/2 teaspoons of "10-Mule Team Borax" in the second plastic cup. Add four tablespoons of water and QUICKLY mix the borax and water before the borax settles to the bottom. Mix well.
  4. Scoop only about one or two spoonfuls of the borax-water mix you made and put that into the glue substance you had in the other plastic cup. Stir well until mixture turns to gel, otherwise known as OOBLECK!!

Tips

  • Use correct measurements.
  • Don't scoop out more than one or two spoon-fulls of the borax-water mix to put into the glue substance.

Things You'll Need
