This is an easy craft that makes a great decorative item for Easter time, for parties with a farm theme or even for a hen's night.
Steps
-
Assemble the supplies needed. These are listed below under "Things You'll Need".
- Blow up the balloon. Tie a knot.
- Carefully stick the eyes onto the balloon where eyes look right to sit.
- Cut out two little triangles from the colored paper. Stick together to form a beak. Glue onto the balloon under the eyes in the middle of the chicken's "face". Leave to dry thoroughly.
- Carefully cut a piece of double-sided tape. Stick it on the head of the chicken (the top of the balloon).
-
Attach the craft feathers to the tape for a head plume on the chicken
- Be careful to avoid sticking any sharp parts of the feathers into the balloon!
-
Hang the funny balloon chicken up. Make as many as are needed and hang them around for good effect.
Warnings
- If young children are helping with this craft, they might get frustrated at the need to be very careful. The balloon risks bursting a lot of the time, so it's best that steady, mature and patient hands do most of the work.

- Glue without solvent (or it'll eat through the balloon and burst it on contact)
