Here is a neat little octopus that will float!
Steps
-
Cut off the bendy part and the small area near it if you are using a bendy straw.
-
Cut off two pieces of the long part that are about 2 and a half inches long.
-
Cut 4 slits in the straw, leaving about 3/8 of an inch at the end. Repeat on the other straw.
-
Pinch the end without cuts on one of the straws and push it up into the other straw from the bottom. This forms the tentacles.
-
Take a straw piece about and inch long and flatten it. Then fold it in half twice.
-
Push the two ends of the piece you just mad through the top of the tentacles, thus making a head.
-
Finished.
Tips
- Try covering the straw in metallic tape to make an interesting look.
- Try making for spiral shaped cuts for another interesting look.
- Place them in dioramas for an ocean project.
Warnings
- Be careful with scissors!
