This article will tell you all about how to make a successful party flyer, without it being to overwhelming.
Steps
-
Use a big enough poster.
- If you use a poster that's too small, the info will be cramped and hard to read. On the other hand, if you use a poster that's too big, it will look empty and will probably lead to ugly, last minute doodles to fill the unwanted space.
- Make sure the title is clear and catches people's attention, without it being overwhelming.
- Try and refrain from using a font that's hard to read, people will be less likely to read all of your poster.
- Put posters out 2 weeks in advance, minimum.
- Make the date, time and address very clear.
- Make tear away sheets with all the necessary info on it for people to take.
- Make sure it's clear who the party is for (18+?, kid appropriate?) and if there will be alcohol.
-
Put the posters where people will see them, but always ask before putting them up in recreation centers, schools, stores etc.
Warnings
- WARNING: If you put out posters, people you may not know very well may show up. Be prepared to let strangers in, or tell them they aren't welcome.
