The photo frame converts from a frame to a name badge or fashion jewelry lapel pin button or badge, and also converts to a hanging ornament! The easel strut leg and metal bar style brooch pin back are removable / interchangeable! There are 4 holes on the easel back panel, 2 for holding the brooch pin back in place, and 2 more, one on the top center, and left side center, for threading ribbon to hang the frame as an ornament. The strut leg is attached with hook & loop aka Velcro to some people. The hook & loop is used to attach the top part of the bendable strut leg to the easel back, as well as the extended ribbon tail, folded in twice, that extends from the bottom right of the strut leg panels, between the front & back strut leg panels, that connects to the easel back panel’s right bottom corner. There is a pocket for the photo and its protective clear sleeve, an acid free sheet protector page, cut to the size of the photo – 10 2x3” 2 sided sleeves can be cut from one sheet protector page. The photo pocket is made by threading 1/8” wide ribbon 2 feet long through 7 holes in a u shape line or 3 sided line, on panels 2 & 3, between the frame front panel & easel back panel, that connects them, thread through ¼” circle holes hole punched or poked & cut out with embroidery like, pointy, small scissors – Fiskars makes a nonstick coated pair for crafting, so you don’t have to ruin your embroidery scissors.

You can also use a piece of 2x3” card stock and print messages in the blocks, notes, greetings, invites, names & dates, anything, as long as you leave ¼” area free of text, along the outer edges. I’ll make a sample grid of 16 2x3” inserts to use. I’m also adding a few sheets of design insert printables for place card holders, blanks, and with names, dates, invite info lines. You can use a paper trimmer to separate them.

PAGE 3 – PATTERN – PLEASE PRINT THIS PAGE ONLY ONTO THERM O WEB HEAT N BOND ULTRAHOLD – it is an acid free, paper backed, iron on adhesive, fusible web / interfacing, that can be printed on using your inkjet printer, cut to 8 ½” x 11” – one 5 yard roll 17” wide yields 32 – 8 ½” x 11” sheets, enough for 32 frame pin ornaments – PLEASE NOTE that I reversed or mirrored the image, but it will print correctly, true to size, to cut out the 6 panels and iron to the back of the 6 fabric panels – also PLEASE NOTE that this pattern is for making CONVERTIBLE FRAME PIN ORNAMENTS – this is for making the frame ornament a PIN (ULTRAHOLD 5 yard roll to left)

PAGE 4 – PATTERN – PLEASE PRINT THIS PAGE ONLY ONTO THERM O WEB HEAT N BOND ULTRAHOLD – it is an acid free, paper backed, iron on adhesive, fusible web / interfacing, that can be printed on using your inkjet printer, cut to 8 ½” x 11” – one 5 yard roll 17” wide yields 32 – 8 ½” x 11” sheets, enough for 32 frame ornaments – PLEASE NOTE that this is for the FRAME ORNAMENT ONLY – NOT to be a PIN - true to size, to cut out the 6 panels and iron to the back of the 6 fabric panels (ULTRAHOLD 5 yard roll to left)

PAGE 5 – This design is to be printed onto 8 ½” x 11” paper card stock, paper, a paper substrate, to be used for paper substrate or vinyl – you can try other substrates, like clay or metal, or boards like mat board or cardboard, and cover them with fabric, with Ultrahold backing the fabric, or chalkboard coated boards – just make a template from the strut legs and cut a piece or 2 of felt or fleece slightly smaller between the layers of strut leg, cut out that area between the lines, and place felt or fleece strut leg panel between, so the strut leg can bend. You can even print this pattern onto a washable, colorfast inkjet printer fabric sheet by June Tailor or Printed Treasures / Prym / Dritz Sewing brand, or soak quality white cotton fabric 9x12” in Bubble Jet Set 2000 solution from cjenkinscompany.com, allow to dry, then iron 9x12” freezer paper to the back, cut to 8 ½” x 11” and print the structure line patterns page onto the fabric side. Heat set on dry high heat for 2 minutes, and fill in with textile paint, iron on Deka transfer paint, design painted onto tracing paper, ironed to fabric, fill in with acrylic paint with textile medium, fill in with textile dye, cover with ribbon roses, etc. Iron a piece of 8 ½” x 11” Ultrahold to the back. This will allow the panels to keep their structure, and seal circle holes to keep them from fraying. The Ultrahold keeps the fabric from puckering, providing shape to the frame panels.

EXTRA printable inserts for frames

Print each page one by one, using your printer properties window, go to the area where it says, “Print page _ to _”

MAKE SURE THAT YOU PRINT WITH BORDERLESS PRINTING in your printer properties, please.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1 – print your design pattern – print directly onto fabric, paper card stock or vinyl, using correct pattern page – if printing onto fabric, iron adhesive side of Ultrahold to back – can cut up to 32 8 ½” x 11 or A4 size sheets from 5 yard roll of Ultrahold

2 – Cut out 6 panels – trim all inner and outer corners at 45 degrees (5 corners on 2 strut leg panels)

3 – Fold seam allowance or outer and inner flaps under, iron down or hot glue or use glue stick, or acid free double sided scrapbook tape to adhere flaps down

4 – Hole punch or poke & cut out the circle holes

5 – Gather and cut 2 or 3 lengths of ribbon and hook & loop to glue inside lined boxes on panels – 1/8” x 2 feet ribbon, 9” long by 1” wide ribbon, 1 foot long by 3/8” wide ribbon – 1 foot of hook & loop cut to size of lined boxes – place loop or soft side of hook and loop on easel back in 2 places, and place hook or harsh side of hook and loop on top box on back strut leg panel, and also on ribbon tail folded in twice extending from bottom right corner of 2 sided strut leg

6 – Thread 1/8” x 2 feet long ribbon through 7 holes in u shaped line through panels 2 & 3, printed sides facing each other, hook & loop attached at top or opening where lined boxes are – thread in one direction, and then back the way you came, using a straight pin or something pointy to poke ribbon through the holes, knot on both sides, glue down knot, trim excess ribbon

7 – Start assembling parts – frame front on top of 2nd inside frame front and inside facing easel back or panels 2 & 3 combo, easel back panel on top of inside facing easel back panel, iron or glue down outer sides – can sew outer edges, but use long stitch lengths and a denim weight sewing machine needle 100/16 or 110/18 weight, use straight pins to hold in place – assemble 2 strut leg panels, glue or iron down - sew if you want the outer edges, leaving opening for ribbon at bottom right corner – will glue in place later, or iron in place if using fabric and Ultrahold adhesive backing, then it will fuse to both layers of strut leg panels

8 – Align the joined strut leg panels over the easel back panel, aligning the design pattern of the print, making sure that the bottom right corners, and all corners are aligned – place loop or soft part in box on easel back – place hook or harsh side in box on top part of back strut leg, attach loop to it, facing in, add glue, then align and place on easel back, making sure that you didn’t add to much glue so you can separate the hook side from the loop side – remove strut leg

9 – Insert ribbon in between bottom right corners of strut leg panels, reattach strut leg to easel back, stand the frame, pushing the ribbon under bottom of frame in front of it, when frame stands on its own, snip ribbon 2 lengths of loop tab that will attach to the easel back bottom right corner, fold ribbon tail in twice, attach hook tab to folded in ribbon tail, then attach hook tab & ribbon tail to bottom right corner of easel back – DONE!

Now all you have to do is cut the protective sleeve for the photo. Use a paper trimmer and straight pins to make the 2x3” sleeve to cut – I turn the protector page to its horizontal position, and cut 2 rows, 5 across, 2” wide by 3” long, use ins to mark where to cut

All of this above is included in the pdf download including photos, with text step by step instructions, along with a list of supplies with links to buy online and click on, PLUS 3 pages of tables of 2x3" inserts, including my art, my own song's sheet music, word art, and more, for you to use for your own frame pin ornaments!

THANK YOU!
