Art Nouveau Bright Butterflies JPEG Sheet 2Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

This set of butterflies has such potential and versatility I have enjoyed making so many very simple, quick and yet stunningly beautiful cards this week from this sheet.

For this particular card I have used a 15 x 10.5 cm standard peach coloured card front.

I then made the 2 backing sheets a dark green 14.25 x 9.75, and then cup885225_719, Green Butterfly background, cut at 14 x 9.5cm and attached them together using D.S. tape.

I wrapped the ribbon across the centre front, and attached it at the back. I cut a 9cm paper doily in half and attached it to the left hand side of this topper.

I attached 3 purple coloured peel off large daisies and using pen and water colour pencils etched some plant structure.

I added some gold dust glitter effects to the centre of each daisy. I set this aside to dry while I prepared the butterfly which in this case is the green butterfly which is the main feature.

I printed the sheet provided twice at 14cm high x 19cm wide, once onto regular vellum paper and once onto light white matte card.

I cut out the green featured butterfly from each sheet, and then used the gold dust over the wings of the matte white card copy, and left this to dry completely before I attached them together at the body section, using a tiny narrow length of power tape.

I attached these to the card front using padded D.S. tape behind the matte card copy of the butterfly. I then drew the feelers with my black pen. To finish the front I have added extra light brush strokes of the gold glitter, the happy Birthday peel off sentiment and the gold peel off edging.

I tied a simple bow and attached it using red power tape.

To complete the insert, I have used the green butterfly background sheet for the main backing sheet and for the lower half of the insert, I have used some green vellum to print the Orchid insert and verse, cup884282_79993, a design by Clare Walker, and made a frame using the red power tape of the green Butterfly background sheet to back this part of the insert.

I then used a wider version of the front peel off strips to complete the frame. I have altered the hues of the green butterfly sheet, cup885225_719 to suit the main colour of the beautiful butterflies each time I have made this card.

So many variations of these 6 cards all from one sheet, I am absolutely thrilled with them all and can already see how I can use these butterflies and the vellum to add embellishments to many of my future card making efforts.

Thank You, to Anne Lever, I am sending you a big virtual hug. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus
