Art Nouveau Bright Butterflies JPEG Sheet 1Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

This beautiful set of butterflies was designed by Anne Lever, and the use of this sheet is only limited by the card makers’ imagination.

The butterfly is a welcome image on all greeting cards, whether large or small, and for all and any occasion.

I have printed the sheet onto a white card at full size and then repeated this onto a green sheet of vellum.

I made 6 cards, each 10.5cm square and matched the butterfly pairs. The white card copy of each one I coated the edge of the wings using Gold Dust glitter effects and then using a fine brush gently covered the wings with the dust.

I set these aside to dry.

I used red power tape cut into tiny narrow strips to stick to the under-side of the vellum copy and when the gold dust was quite dry, I then attached the vellum butterfly on top by folding it at the body to make the wings stand up and then peeling off the red tape backing.

To make each card I used the colours of the butterfly each time for the backing sheets and a matching ribbon.

For this example I have used an orange 10cm square backing sheet to attach to the card front and edged it with gold silver edged glitter peel off strips.

The next backing sheet is teal and has the same glitter peel off strips and the teal ribbon is attached vertically, 2cm in from the left hand edge, before it is attached to the card front, using padded D.S. tape.

I attached the bow and the greeting before attaching the butterfly. I am so thrilled with my happy craft afternoon, having made 6 beautiful cards in no time at all, and all equally as lovely.

Thank you Anne, I am sending you a virtual hug, I love this design.
