My Husband Passed... by Janice Shehan

After a brief hospital stay, my beloved husband, Jim, suddenly passed this week. Please, if you are Christian, pray for him in heaven and for me to overcome the overwhelming impact of his death. I thank God so very, very much that I have CUP to turn to when I need to redirect my thoughts. Thanks again CUP staff for being there, Im blessed to have found you. xx Janice

Last week Allen & I had a short visit to the UK for the Christening of his Great Granddaughter Olivia. Her christening was being held in the same village church that Allen was christened in 74 years ago. The small church was almost full with all the family & friends. After the service everyone went back to the football club for lunch. Amazingly all of Allens sisters & brother were also there so I took the opportunity to get a photo of all 6 of them in age order. Allen is the eldest of the 6. This is the first time in the 11 years that Allen & I have been together that we have managed to get all 6 together.

This week we went out car hunting for my husband, His car is 6 years old now and we really wanted something a bit newer.. so off we went o our local Jaguar garage to see what they had.. Didnt take me long to spot this little beauty in the Aston Martin garage next door.. Oh it was lush! And so striking! But then what do you expect from Aston Martin? But that wasnt meant to be .. we had to walk away from that one, I dont know who can afford to pay over £100.000 for a car to take you shopping hahahaha..So we went back to the Jag garage and chose one from there.. Pick up next week and I cant wait.. Shes a Jaguar XF sport in racing green with red leather seats and every conceivable extra you can have! Look out next week for the photo!I have featured Mothers Day again this week with two floral 3d cards both come with box templates too for giving... Mam and Mom ... Bunnings Day by Vicki Avcin

Each year one of the big hardware stores here in Australia puts on a Sausage Sizzle, run by, food supplied and cooked by the staff of Bunnings to raise funds for the State Emergency Service and the Rural Fire Service. Both organisations are volunteer organisations. Some of the stores run it for both each year, usually the weekend of or just after Australia Day in January, but the store here where I live alternate years. This year it was for the Rural Fire Service and all money raised through the BBQ/Sausage Sizzle will be going to the Rural Fire Service. Last year it was the SESs turn. We set up in the morning and throughout the day each brigade in our area got to come in with their truck/s and members were also able to walk round the store with collections for donations. We had an information stall set up for people to ask questions and for the kids to get stickers and colouring books. On January 1st this year we had changes to the Smoke Alarm legislation so it was a good opportunity to talk with people about that and give them brochures to help them understand the changes. We are not sure how much was raised as yet as this is an Australia wide event and its about 4 to 6 weeks until we know. But regardless it was a great day! The joys of spring.... by Anne Lever

I absolutely love daffodil season. It is magical to buy a bunch of daffodils and watch them slowly develop from boring long stems, to magnificent yellow trumpets, almost before your eyes. I bought this lovely bunch on Tuesday, and by wednesday evening most of them were in full bloom. Every time I left the room and came back in on Wednesday, I would notice another flower had opened. So springlike, and full of promise for the spring and the warmer weather.

Half term Fun! by Carol Clarke

It was half term here this week and so we ere able to take 4 year old Olivia out on our Cuddle and Giggle Day outing too. So we packed our picnic and headed to Clumber Park once again. Olivia and Austin really loved jumping in the muddy puddles and feeding the ducks but we got a little cold and so headed to the discovery centre to warm up a little. I dont think Olivia quite got the idea of how to look through the microscope as every time I told her to shut one eye ... she closed the one she was looking through the microscope with! lol

Shoe Trees by Janyce Cotterill

Some call it art, some call it vandalism, some say it is a celebratory act (marks the end of school/college or uni) some say it is litter or a way of getting rid of unwanted or worn out shoes. Whatever the reason - I came across a collection of these Shoe Trees whilst out walking this week. I found it all quite fascinating and quite a talking point on our walk, and here are a couple of the pics I took. I wasnt the only one admiring these trees - there were lots of other people doing exactly the same thing. So - if nothing else they get people talking and communicating together, which cant be a bad thing! I am leaving you with a couple of my final four months of my birthstone and birth flower sheets released this week. There is now a card sheet for every month of the year along with a matching insert. They dont have to be used for the specific months - just alter the sentiment tags and you can use them for any birthday or other occasion you wish. If you click on one of the sheets it should take you to the whole collection. Thank you for your interest.

Storm Doris! by Sue Way

As I am typing this the wind is raging outside as storm Doris hits the UK. I hope you are all safe, where ever you are. I saw a few branches across the road as I drove home from the gym this morning, but apparently, its not at its worse yet! I came home to a VERY damp dog. While I was out, hubby took Alfie for a walk, hoping to get it done before the worst hit. But Hubs & Alf got blown along the seafront then caught in a massive downpour. Its perfect weather for Golden Retrievers as they love the wind & getting wet, so Alfie loved every minute. Hours later he is still very damp, but content in his bed. This week I am introducing my new series called Shopping Girls. I will be adding the matching inserts over the next few days to complete your card. Musical Theatre Performance

A few weeks ago I mentioned in the news letter that my eldest daughter Jessica belongs to a musical theatre group. Well in the half term she finally got to perform on stage with them a couple of songs from Matilda and a couple from Annie. Jessica suddenly got very nervous just before they went on stage. This was the first time they had performed together and in public. The kids were absolutely fantastic and gave it everything, I was a bit emotional watching her perform as she is quite a shy girl, so this was lovely to see. IM SO EXCITED by Wanda Lipski

I have just received the first of what I am told will be an avalanche of family photos as my brother (very computer savvy) has been trawling through boxes of family photos. There are photos of ancestors that are totally unknown to me, but it is going to be so exciting trying to find out who people are, especially as my father is no longer with us to clue us in on his family. ... So in response to all those lucky designers who have grandchildren who delight us with their antics, here is a picture of a child on her 5th birthday. ME!!!!!!!!!! Now wasnt I cute !
