Details in Design by Janyce Cotterill

Just a final few pictures of our visit to Alnwick Garden recently. I enjoy looking for details in design wherever I go. Here are a few details I found in and around the garden. Such ornate metalwork - and I need those pots for my garden! The garden reopens 1st February, if you are ever up in the Northumberland area do visit the garden and the castle nearby, places not to be missed! Im leaving you with four more of my birthday gemstones and birthday flower sheets. You dont need to use them specifically for someones birth month as you can just change the sentiment tag on the sheet and use them for any occasion you wish to. The final four months will be available soon. Thank you for your interest, I hope you enjoy these designs.

A golden morning by Kelly Barker

Today I was lucky enough to be looking after my mum and dads golden retriever Alfie for the day. I couldnt wait for him to arrive as I had told my golden Baxter that I would take them for a walk on his field, so Baxter was listening to every car that passed trying to work out if they had arrived. We had a lovely walk, beautiful sunshine, but rather crisp, which I quite like. Now the boys a are getting on a bit (they are both 11) they are like gentlemen on their walks, sweet and smiley and just happy to say hello to anyone that passes. Alfie was so well behaved, every time he got ahead of me he would just stop and wait with a big grin on his face. Heres a picture of the boys on our way back home, they were a bit worn out by then so they finally stayed next to each other for a photo. Baxter is laying down and Alfie standing :) This week I have put 12 double twist easel kit designs on special offer, they all come with easy to follow instructions and are currently just 90p. Dont forget to follow me on craftsuprint as I have some exciting new designs arriving online next week, so dont miss out!

Bowling Birthday Party for 4 year olds

by Judith Henry

Im on my way to stay with the girls this week end. One of the entertainment will be a birthday bowling party. Over the holidays we experience family bowling with my great nephew. This is a spare attempt which ended in the gutter. He would run up throw his body done as he dropped the ball. Thump. Then we would watch and watch until it hit the pins. Slow motion was the name of the game but we all had a good time.

I love to design, make, receive and send popup cards. They take time to design but are so worth the labor. This week has been incredible both in sales, Facebook response, and winning a Crafty Bobs Speed Bingo. Have a safe week end.

GLAD YOU LOVE CAKE DARLING

by Wanda Lipski

Saturday was my husbands 75th birthday and we were expecting 30 or so people for a party in a local restaurant. In light of the very unfavourable weather, we had to contact everyone that morning to cancel as we didnt want to be responsible for any friends ending up in hospital. We had had heavy snowfalls during the night on a ground that had had rain ... the result was REALLY treacherous driving conditions. We squared off with the restaurant, simply postponing the date, but the cake ... well that had been ordered and made. I took a photo of my rather glum hubby in the garden with the wonderful creation, just so that you can all see how lovely the cake and the snow looked. The card I designed for his birthday is now available for all 5 years steps between 40 and 100 years for men, husbands and fathers with a lot of help from a calculator to add in all the leap years to my calculations. Hubby loved the card and I hope you do too.

A long wait... by Janice Shehan

We have lived in Florida for about 11 years, down from the mid Atlantic area of the US. We have saved and dreamed of having native palm trees in our yard for a very long time. We now are the proud owners of several newly planted trees of varying species. Its dry and of course warm here, so we must be vigilant with watering. Its amazing that palm trees do NOT have large root systems that must be dug up when transplanting. Most trees have a root system as large or larger than the top and height of the tree, not so with palms. Thanks for reading! xx Janice

Wooly Days by Patricia Platt

I have been keeping busy making more toys for Knit a Square, recently I finished making 3 Monkeys and 3 bunnys for them. My friends from Knit and Natter, Michelle - Whispy Willow Lane and another friend also named Sharon and I went to a wool Show last Sunday. We were in knitting and wool heaven. :) There was lots to look at and lots to touch. You can not go to a wool show and keep your hands in your pockets, you just have to touch. I decided this year I was going to learn to knit socks, so while at the show I picked up a few things to help me in that process. I also love spinning wool. So bought myself a new drop spindle and some lovely dyed wool to give it a try. As you can see by the blue and white hank I need some practice. I am good at thick and thin spinning, Now trying to get a more even yarn. The sock knitting is coming along and hopefully this Saturday, Michelle can give me a tip on how to shape the heel part of the sock. :) I had to get my head around using circular needles and I think I finally got that sussed. :)

Special Birthday Present by June Harrop

Its really difficult to buy birthday presents for men, especially when its you hubby and especially when their birthday falls on the 20th December. Usually everyone is concentrating on Christmas and so usually just end up going out for a meal. This year I decided to do something different. John has always been a big fan of Rod Stewart so in Feb 2016 I managed to get tickets to see Rod in concert at the MEN Arena in Dec 2016. We went and had an early dinner and then onto the concert. I have to say it was a fantastic performance. For a guy in his 70s he really is a Superstar. We really enjoyed it and John said it was one of the best birthday presents ever, one to remember. The photo is Mr Stewart in action.

Flood Warning! by Sue Way

Last week was a pretty scary week for many of us living along the east coast of Britain, as we had severe flood warnings in place! I received several warning emails & recorded messages as we live one road back from the sea & were considered at risk Not as severe as just a mile along the coast where people were advised to leave their homes. Many stayed put as the same warnings were issued 3 years ago but all was ok. The first surge was during the day, so we took a little walk down to the front to see how bad it was & whether we needed to take precautions. Luckily the wind dropped and the tide didnt rise as high as predicted. But just as we started to relax, we received another message for the middle of the night! When you hear a message like this is pretty scary We are currently experiencing high tide levels due to a combination of spring tides and a tidal surge. The gale force winds will cause large waves and sea spray resulting in potential damage to flood defences and flooding of property. Hazardous conditions are likely and you are advised to take care near coastal defences and avoid coastal paths and promenades. This warning is in force until 2:15am on 14 January 2017 But once again the weather was on our side and all was safe in this area. The next day the sun was shining and the beach looked like it had had a spring clean. Alfie had a good roll on the sand and I took this pic to show the tide line of how high the water did come. Please see my latest designs below and thank you for clicking on the follow button under my name on my shop front, so you never miss an update. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Do ya wana build a Snowman? by Tina Fitch

Thats exactly what my twin granddaughters did this week.. All ready for bed at 7.30 pm then the snow fell.. We didnt really expect as much snow as we got but it gave the girls time to build their very own Olaf as they called him. Took them ages to get him to stand it started to rain slightly after the snow stopped and they raced against time to get him to be perfect ... Before the rain washed him away.. By the time they had finished it was 9 pm and past bedtime.. And in the morning he had melted nearly with the carrot on the floor and a wet patch where they had built him the night before. The girls havent really seen a big fall of snow in their lifetime yet, We seldom have it here bad , its falls quickly and before we know it its melted. Shame really as we had so much fun years ago when I was younger in the snow.Well thats all from me this week.. Two beautiful designs featured for you in all formats for all machines..Happy Crafty Cutting xx
