Baxter has got his bounce back!

by Kelly Barker

My gorgeous golden retriever Baxter is 11 now and this year arthritis has crept in. Over the summer his walks got slower and slower and he was gaining weight. He wasnt playing like he used to and of an evening would just lay in the other room and sometimes moan because he didnt want to stand on the wooden floor. I took him to the vets and he was put on anti inflammatory tablets, but we soon upped the dose as they didnt seem to do a lot for him. I also put him on a diet and made sure I gave him extra leg rubs to help the aches and pains. He seemed a little better but not a lot, so the vet recommended a course of Cartrophen injections and wow what a difference! Thankfully I have managed to get his weight down by about 5kg so far and after his injections he is playing more and bounding about like a puppy on his walks. My mum had always nicknamed him Tigger and it is lovely to see him with his Tigher bounce back! I have put 12 fab Christmas designs on offer this week all with 25% off! Please take a look and click follow on my name so you never miss a new design.

When is a Westie not a Westie

by Joanna Swinton

This Westie is not as stubbon as mine. Abby is also very playful and makes her presence well known. The pictured Westie is totally amazing. Its a cake. Just look at the stands of fur all individually put on this beautiful cake. I was nicely surprised when I saw it in a show. There were loads of amazing cakes but this one was closest to my heart. I love the dark round eyes and there were teeth in the Westies mouth. The ears were perfectly trimmed and there was not a hair in place. Cant say the same for Abby.

I thought Id promote these beautiful satchels that are ideal to pop on the Christmas tree

Thunder and Lightning! by Robyn Cockburn

Supposed to be very, very frightening, isnt it? It certainly upset my previous darling fur baby - Xena the cat. She used to walk around the house even BEFORE a storm arrived with bent legs and tail tucked under. Once the storm arrived she was petrified. She has to hide underneath a pillow and being as covered up as possible. Our new cat, Lucy, who is just over one year old now, is SO different. Instead of hiding she decided to go outside and sit on a chair (out of the rain but open to the wind etc) to WATCH the storm. The photo shows her in the middle of the storm. Amazing how different their personalities can be. Its rather hot and dry here at the moment - a few more storms would be welcome.I hope you find my latest Quick Card designs useful - Christmas is almost upon us and I thought some quick and easy to make Christmas cards might be useful.

Location Location Location.

by Janyce Cotterill

I visited a close friend recently. We met in infant school and became firm friends throughout our lives. Not long after she was married she moved to Scotland as her husband got a job up there. We initially kept in touch by letters and landline phones but what with emails, texts, social media these days theres never been an easier time to keep in touch! As my friend and I share exactly the same birthday we managed to spend it together this year. She lives in a stunning, peaceful and tranquil location so I thought Id share a few photos that I took while I was up there. The View - how about this view from your bedroom window every morning. The Driveway - it may take you awhile to get up there but past that small copse and continue on is where their cottage is. The Neighbour - how about that handsome animal greeting you every day. My friend knows how lucky she is to live in such a stunning location, I just wish I lived around the corner! Im leaving you with a couple of sheets from my latest set of my Sometimes.... range of designs. I hope you like them. Thank you for your interest.

NINA IS 5 YEARS OLD by Wanda Lipski

Nina, my husbands only granddaughter recently celebrated her 5th birthday with us with her parents and uncle. I wanted to prepare a meal that would be a delight for her, but Hubby preferred very French things like oysters and snails sso I lef rip on Ninas birthday cake. I thoroughly enjoyed making it, and she enjoyed eating it, although she did think that my liquorice allsort ducks on a the gold pond were little bees - my fault for using yellow and black ! Ah the truth comes out of the mouth of babes. And because weve all opened our advent calendars, a couple of new year designs for you. ENJOY!

A Golden Surprise by Sue Way

When we first moved to this house my 2 Golden Retrievers were only pups & we walked them a couple of miles up the beach every day. I made friends with many other dog walkers & still see them, although our dogs have got older (& so have we lol) & some have left us (including my Abbey :( ) One lady I became very good friends with also had 2 Goldens & a black lab. We met up every Monday morning & the dogs had a fantastic time. My friend later moved to another part of town, so we stopped meeting up. But the other day when I took Alfie to the park I bumped into her. She now has 4 Golden Retrievers! The 2 oldest remembered me & gave me such a lovely greeting. Alfie was overwhelmed by so much gold, but all 5 of them had a great time & my friends & I stood & chatted like old time & promised to meet up again soon.Today I am showcases my latest Christmas Fairy designs, both of them are on special offer with 20% off. Thank you to everyone who follows me. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Oh Christmas Tree! by Tina Fitch

Oh My what a performance I had this week.. From the day I got married I have always had a real Christmas Tree .. Last year I said they were getting rather expensive at £60.00 a time... So with that my daughter said Mum get an artificial one and try it.. MMM I thought I wasnt very happy about that really I dont like change hahahahah.. Anyway I looked and found one that looked quite similar to a real one and best of all it was half price on Black Friday so I bought it!Well Yesterday Wednesday I decided to see what it was like OMG It took me 3 hours to put it together slotting in the branches then spreading the twigs on the branches... and once I had done it I thought oh I wish I hadnt bought it.. it was nothing like a real tree....But today I decorated it with my special bits and I like it.. I especially love the top.. My Harry Potter sorting hat.. I knew I bought that for something. LOLAnyway here it is with the sorting hat at the top and my special Storm Troopers standing guard... I now just love it! I didnt take the photo with the lights on as they dont always look nice..Thank you for your continued support !

Welcome to Summer by Vicki Avcin

Well what a bang to our Summer as the first week is giving us higher than average temperatures already. Heatwave conditions already and summer here only started on 1st December. Has been some severe storms thrown in the mix with some places getting hail bigger than cricket balls. Sadly we arent getting these storms and our grass is lovely crunchy brown grass. Our fire season has well and truly arrived too with some places having fires that have burnt for a couple of weeks in places. Weve had one Fire Ban in place already for 4 days in November but there is still Hazard Reduction burning to be done. Wednesday night I spent 5 hrs on the fire ground at one Hazard Reduction burning 9 stacks for a property owner who has cleared his land (selectively) to try and reduce the amount of fuel on his property. We have to time these burns so that the weather is in our favour and although we try and do these burns in the cooler months between May and August but when we have had a wet winter we have to do them when we can. These burns are also an invaluable tool for new firefighters to learn use of equipment and fire behaviour on a smaller scale rather than a wildfire. So roll on summer….if we have wildfires we will be prepared with reduced fuel loading and firefighters that know their skills. Photos are a couple of photos from the burn last night taken by Lesley H who was one of the crew

The Frost Fayre by Anne Lever

Last weekend Glastonbury had their annual christmas Frost Fayre. My brother was one of the stallholders for the frst time, and I went over to help him behind the stall. There were street performers, saxons kidnapping the town crier, morris dancers and more. It was a huge event, and very, very busy. There were stalls selling jewellery, hand crafted pottery, sweets, roasted chestnuts, hand blown glass etc. There was even a stall selling caveman items, hand tooled leather goods, drums, bone needles etc. Only in Glastonbury would you get this eclectic mix!
