A colourful run by Sarah Edwards

This weekend I won my FIRST EVER medals for running. I started doing running about three months ago with some friends and this weekend I completed a 5K run and a 10K Hill Climb. My legs hurt today! The 5K on Saturday was a colour run where you get coloured powder thrown at you as you run the course - as you can see, I ended up VERY colourful!

Surprise crafting packages by Judith Henry

My granddaughter is now 4 and loves to do crafts. I gave her a subscription to kiwi crates. She receives a kit every month. It has been very successful. She looks forward to each package. This was her first project. Its a hobby horse. There are several projects in each shipment. Then there is grannys kits. She has access to all my scraps which she creatively put to good use.

This week I have been working on Halloween cards.

I Got My Challenge Coin by Vicki Avcin

A few weeks ago I put up a news item about how my design had been chosen to be the front of a Challenge Coin for our Fire Service. Ive been dying to see one for real and a couple of weeks ago while at the AFAC conference I was talking to a girl that works at Head Office. She recognised my name on my delegate tag and she was so excited to meet me. Then the next day while at one of the forums, our Acting Assistant Commissioner was sitting a row in front of us, the lass from Head Office was in the same forum and we were sitting together, and she leaned over and tapped him on the shoulder and told him I was the one that designed the coin. I said to him how I cant wait to get one in the presentation box that they said would be presented to me and I couldnt wait to see one. He dug around in his bag and pulled out one in a little plastic pocket. To say I was over the moon to actually see it, feel it, is an understatement. I actually had tears in my eyes!!! I went to hand it back and he told me to keep it. I kept saying no, Im getting one eventually but he insisted I keep it saying Well now you will have two. Later that afternoon I ran into our Commissioner and she told me that Mark had said hed given me one, but Im still getting one in a presentation box. Our Commissioner also told me that every speaker at the conference had been given one. So my design has gone round the world now in the form of the Challenge Coin. Pretty exciting…….. well I think so!

Christmas is coming so check out these little pillow boxes. Check them all out in the Papercrafts section in my CUP store. Great for small gifts.

Pakefield by Sue Way

This week we took out tourer to Pakefield. We stayed at a lovely friendly site with a club house and a swimming pool, right by the beach. We had some lovely walks around the area. The first day we visited nearby Kesingland and walked along the beach to find the cliff top house we stayed in 17 yrs ago. We were very surprised to see how the coastline has changed. When we stayed then the large beach was all soft golden sand and even though the tide went a long way out, it also came right up to the rocks at the bottom of the cliff. Now the sea is over a dip the beach is shingle and scrub-land. Apparently this was caused by a new harbour being built further up the coast, tidal surges and the storms of recent years. The next day we walked the beach from the caravan site at Pakefield and saw further evidence of erosion, as you can see by the very old church and graveyard that now stands at the cliff edge. We had a very nice time on our holiday and each walk was rewarded with tea and cake in one of the tea shops along the way. That was our last caravan outing for this year, as the evening are getting cooler and damper, so we are packing it away for the winter, but we cant wait to be off on more adventures next year! I have put lots of my Christmas designs on special offer this week, including the two shown below. 21st Birthday Party by Robyn Cockburn

Last weekend we went to another party! This time it was for the 21st birthday of a long-time family friend. Our two daughters have been going to Fitness and Dance (jazz ballet, hop-hop etc) since they were 4 years old. They soon became fast friends with another pair of sisters about their own age. We followed suit becoming friends with their parents (Nancy and Bergthor). Even though our girls dont dance together any more we still keep in touch regularly. Nancy and I even tried the adult class of dancing for one term. Oh boy that was hilarious! They taught us the same dance routines as the Juniors - ages around 8yo. That was so that we wouldnt have to learn long. complicated routines. Each week Nancy and I would front up and the instructor would say `okay we were up to here last week - you`ll remember these steps...`. Nancy and I would look at each other and say `Really? Did we do that last week?` And some of the moves - we could never figure them out. Needless to say we only did the one term!

My new office by Tina Fallon

Finally after a very long wait of 5 years on the waiting list, hubby and myself now have a beach hut on the north Norfolk coast, so here is the lovely view from what will be my office in the summer. Bit of internal painting to be done and some shelves etc put in to make it all cozy, then about 200 shells to remove the previous owners stuck everywhere that you can imagine inside the hut lol . it just needs my crafty female touch to it. I look forward to sharing with you the before and after photos in the Spring. Got a busy couple of months coming up, with me hosting some Christmas workshops, so looking forward to them and meeting up with old friends and actually getting to make some cards and gifts this year. Every year i say I will make all my cards and time runs away and it never happens, so am making an early start this year (well that is the intention lol ) Crafty hugs Tina x

Happy Grandchildren by Carol Dunne

If you read my last news item you would know that I have recently returned from a trip to Barcelona and Madrid. My grandson is normally a Manchester United football fan (our nearest city is Manchester) but his second favourite football team is Madrid and his favourite player is Ronaldo. So while I was in Madrid I bought him a football shirt with Ronaldo on the back. As you can see from the photo he is very pleased with it. I bought my grand daughter a Spanish lady dress and a set of castanets which she is also very pleased with.

New Sewing Hobby by Kelly Barker

In the summer holidays my eight year old Jessica kept asking if she could spend some of her birthday money on a sewing machine. I was a bit dubious as she has a habit of starting a hobby like this and then giving it to me to do as she isnt perfect straight away, so I got a cheap one, not quite a kids one, but a small, basic one. Well she had a go of it, but was scared of holding the fabric as she didnt want to sew her fingers, so she soon got bored, as I suspected. I havent used a sewing machine since I was at school, so it was a bit of a learning curve for me, but within a week I had made Imogen a skirt and Jessica a dress! They are by no means perfect, but the girls love them and I am very happy as the fabric was just some cheap off cuts from a local shop and only cost me about £2. I can see plenty of sewing projects in my future! Here are 2 of my newest designs both baby shower step by steps, also available in rainbow colours. Please check out my special offers here http://www.craftsuprint.com/kelly-barker/list/specials.cfm Lots of christmas designs with 25% off this week and dont forget to follow me to never miss a new design!

NUTS!! by Tina Fitch

Well here they are.. Yes they were still attached to the tree and this late in the year too! I really didnt expect them to still be there as they are just turning ripe. We went on our usual Jet seeking trip this week up to RAF Lakenheath and there are loads of Cob nut trees where the nuts are just turning now, But I suspect when I visit next week the nuts will have all been taken. The squirrels will have taken the lot, and normally this time of year they are already ripened and gone, They have been taken and hidden within the ground so they know where to find food when its snowing or there are no berries on the bushes or trees.. The Weather is slowly changing now so they will be empty next week when we visit.. The nut from the tree always fascinates me really.. I love cob nuts at Christmas time, and last year I tried so very hard to get some for our Christmas at home, But no such luck and I dont suppose I will be lucky this year either! All files in all formats in my store.. all here for you http://www.craftsuprint.com/tina-fitch/ And Thank you for your continued support.

Here Boy..... by Joanna Swinton

It was a really exciting time for my two oldest grandchildren. They were taken for horse riding. Most places will not accept a 3 year old but one was found after some searching. It as a lovely place with plenty of other entertainment for children, so people can make a day of it.The highlight was the horseriding. It had been a treat for Bellas birthday. The organisers put the children on the horses and they walked round with the childfen to make sure everything was alright. They loved it. Afterwards they went off to play on the play areas that was nice a big with a large fence round to make sure they were kept safe. Close by was a cafe so parents can get a much needed cup of tea.
