19 month old Austin had lots of fun this week creating a masterpiece for his Mummy. He really enjoyed choosing which colour crayons to use and then carefully coloured his picture whilst giggling all the time! When we got back he then carefully carried it inside and presented it to his Mummy .... who of course really loved it! lolBelow are more of my On the Shelf Cards. Watch out for more Coming soon ... Just as soon as Ive drawn the characters! lol

Its Big News in my house . . . by Kim Blundred

Hugo is celebrating his 2nd Birthday on September 16th . . . the day of the mailer! I have 3 cats, all who will turn 2 in the space of 2 weeks. They all came home on the same day to form their new little family. Hugo is like the Daddy and has always acted like the oldest, most protective. The picture is Hugo as a kitten, a week before he came home, and then him relaxing and outdoors. So, lots of kittie Birthday presents to buy, the only problem being, my house is too small for all the cat toys :-)

Here are two of my latest Christmas designs with a Santa theme for the men. Take a look at my special offers - lots more Santa designs! Thank you for looking

Unicorn Feathers and Olympic Rings by Patricia Platt

Sometimes I like challenges, and especially fun ones that help others. I belong to a couple of groups of crafty friends who do things for charity. And I had a challenge in two of them latley. One we held a little auction and my friend from Chaldon Animal Sanctuary was auctioning off what she called unicorn feathers..... I knew exactly what it was and I bid and won the auction. It was some fur from one of her rescue dogs. She washed and dried it before sending to me. I do a little bit of needle felting so took on the challenge to help her raise even more fundsfor the rescue. So I made some brooches with the fur and some wool and beads I had already. We auctioned them off along with some heart brooches and raised another £25 for the rescue. :) Then I had a message from another friend who does knitting for Knit A Square Charity and she wanted to know how to do some crocheted olympic rings. I have been crocheting since I was 7 years old. So took on the challenge to make a set for her. They will go onto a square she has made for a blanket that will go to keep a child in Africa warm. The Knit a Square charity makes blankets, toys and hats for children who are orphaned by or who themselves have Aids. Both are great charities and both worthy challenges. :)

Christmas is around the corner so I have been making some Christmas card designs. With both of these I have used the lovely designs from our CUP Artist and designer Pamela West. I hope you like them. :)

18TH BIRTHDAY by Wanda Lipski

Our adopted nephew celebrated his 18th birthday on Sunday, and since he has no family (hes been in care since the age of 5) he came home to us for the day. I love with envy on the photos of all the designers cute grandchildren (oh such lucky ladies) and since Ahmet is not exactly cute and cuddly (large and ressembling a boxer) I though I would really give you something to drool over, his choice of birthday cake, a 3 chocolate entremet that was as heavenly in the mouth as it was to look at. Of course it wont be so heavenly on the hips, but what the heck! So only normal that I should share with you some of delicious cakes that will not pile on the pounds. Enjoy !

Roald Dahl Dress Up Day by Kelly Barker

My eldest daughters school along with plenty of others across the country celebrated Roald Dahl this week by having all the staff and pupils dressing up as characters from his books. The playground was full of oompa lumpas, twits, Matildas and BFGs, it was a lot of fun to see in the morning. Jessica decided to go as Veruca Salt from Charlie and the chocolate factory and for once we had everything we needed in the house, although I did get a bit crafty and make her a lollipop prop. Here is my newest Christmas design and matching insert and check out my special offers as I have lots of princess design and all with 25% off!

Caoimhes First Birthday by Diane Hannah

This is my youngest granddaughter Caoimhe. She recently had her first birthday party. Most of the family attended. We had a barbecue with lots of food, tons of presents for the baby, and some delicious birthday cake. Caoimhe was wearing a beautiful birthday outfit, and of course a party hat to fit a princess. Everyone had a great time celebrating, eating, and visiting.

Featured are a couple of my newest cards. Thank you for looking, hugs!

AFAC 16 Conference by Vicki Avcin

I recently attended a weeklong conference in Brisbane for AFAC which stands for Australasian Fire Authorities Council, which is the governing body for all Fire Agencies here in Australia. I was one of 17 delegates sponsored by our association (RFBAQ) here in Queensland and QFES which is Queensland Fire and Emergency Services. All my accommodation, travel, meals and entry to attend the conference and trade show was paid for. What a massive week it was. Brilliant and informative speakers and forums with over 1000 delegates in attendance. The trade show had over 300 displays with all sorts of equipment and vehicles under one roof in the convention centre. They even had a helicopter in the building! Choosing which speakers/forums to attend was difficult with sometimes 2 or 3 on at the same time so I had to decide which ones I would go to. Such a varied range of topics from fire related to community recovery after disasters or large incidents, Incident Management, roles of women and the resistance to include women within the service, floods and cyclones forecasting and effects of prescribed fires when there is a wild fire. All of the speakers were excellent and a lot of knowledge collected. The first day was all forums, with 2nd and 3rd days the actual conference with the different speakers. On Wednesday night there was a Gala Dinner with the theme of the conference Getting the balance right carried into the entertainment at the dinner also. This was a black and white theme where our dress code was black and white. We closed on Thursday afternoon with an interesting discussion panel made up of the retiring and past presidents of AFAC interviewed. I came home on Friday very tired but on a massive high after an exhilarating week.

Check out all my Christmas Tags in a variety of styles and colours. Just two of them promoted today. Type Christmas into the search box on my page.

I like a Challenge by Patricia Platt

I have a group of friends on the internet who do little group auctions to help various charities. One of them actually runs a Dog and Cat Sanctuary. She had an auction of what she called unicorn feathers...... I knew exactly what it was and since I do a bit of hand needle felting thought okay I will bid on it and see if I cant make something from it and make her a bit more for the animals. So she sent me the fur.... a bit bemused. I then turned them into the following brooches. The fur is from one of her favourite dogs. The person who won the auction has asked me to send the brooches to the friend who runs the rescue. :) She should be getting them today. It will be a reminder of her good work and her favourite dog. :)

Fetch! by Sarah Edwards

Last weekend my husband (James) and I went to visit his family for Sunday lunch and we were playing outside in the garden. We couldnt resist taking some photos of James sisters golden retriever called Todd playing with his tennis ball. He looked so goofy in the photos chasing the ball and jumping for it! I think this one has got to be my favourite... Bonus points if you can spot one of my dogs in the background!

The new Arrival by June Young

My eldest son and his family live in Holland which I have visited several times. About 18 months ago they got a puppy not a Chihuahua, or a Yorkie - No an Irish Wolf Hound! Deagan is now almost fully grown and he is big even for his breed - hes the size of a Shetland pony. Recently there was a new arrival - a Labrador pup! Steve and his family will have this dog for about 18 months, get him house trained and used to people and other dogs and then he will go to become a guide dog for the blind. At first Im pretty sure Deagan thought that this running, jumping squeaking thing was his new squeaky toy but - as you can see - they are now the best of friends and the pup is getting bigger every day. My two granddaughters love both of them to death and I can see it will be a wrench when the Lab has to go on to his new life helping a blind person.

Trevi Fountain by Silvia Griffin

I was lucky to go to Rome 2 weeks ago.One of the more beautiful sites was Trevi Fountain. It was packet with tourist who tossed coins for good luck. The Trevi Fountain is a fountain in the Trevi district in Rome, Italy, designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed by Pietro Bracci. Standing 26.3 metres (86 ft) high and 49.15 metres (161.3 ft) wide, it is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world. The fountain has appeared in several notable films, including Federico Fellinis La Dolce Vita.Legend holds that in 19 BC thirsty Roman soldiers were guided by a young girl to a source of pure water thirteen kilometres (8.1 miles) from the city of Rome. The discovery of the source led Augustus to commission the construction of a twenty-two-kilometre (14-mile) aqueduct leading into the city, which was named Aqua Virgo, or Virgin Waters, in honour of the legendary young girl. The aqueduct served the hot Baths of Agrippa, and Rome, for over four hundred years. The fountain was refurbished in 1998; the stonework was scrubbed and all cracks and other areas of deterioration were repaired by skilled artisans and the fountain was equipped with recirculating pumps. In January 2013, it was announced that the Italian fashion company Fendi would sponsor a 20-month, 2.2-million-euro restoration of the fountain; it will be the most thorough restoration in the fountains history.[10]Restoration work began in June 2014 and was completed in November 2015. The fountain was reopened with an official ceremony on the evening of November 3, 2015. The restoration included the installation of more than 100 LED lights to improve the nighttime illumination of the fountain

Barcelona by Carol Dunne

I have returned from a holiday in the beautiful city of Barcelona (Spain). I went a number of years ago and visited La Sagrada Familiar, the stunning cathedral designed by Antoni Gaudi. I went a number of years ago and it was like a building site with bags of cement and ladders on the floor. So this time it was nice to see how far they had progressed with the building. It was started in 1882 and they hope to finish it in 2026. All the money to build it has come from public donations which is amazing. My photo shows the outside of the building from a distance, then a close up image showing all the detail around one of the entrances and also the stained glass windows which have recently been installed. When you walk inside it is like walking through a forest of trees, each tree is made of different stone. I am not a religious person but the design, architecture, techniques and workmanship that have made this building are astonishing. I hope I am still around in 2026 to see it finished as it is going to be an absolutely fantastic site to see.

Well heres the twins meeting James Bond 007.. Daniel Craig! This was taken at their recent visit to Madame Tussauds... They had a lovely time as I did explain before.. But standing with James Bond was the favourite of the day... Ava-Lily Just loves James Bond but I think she does as she is a Grandads girl and what Grandad likes she like too. They really had a lovely time learning about all the wax works and who the people were and what they offered to the world..After that visit they trotted off to the Millennium wheel I think its called now... Megan didnt like it last time she seems to have an issue with heights or did do on the last visit... But both thoroughly enjoyed it this time round..Thank you to all for your continued support in purchasing my designs. Rachel`s 18th Birthday Party by Robyn Cockburn

A milestone for Rachel celebrated with a party at home with family and friends. Preparing was a big team effort - Nicole and I cooked on Friday, Alex bought all the drinks, Paul arranged for pizzas (Rachel was at uni). Then on Saturday everyone pitched in and moved furniture and put up decorations. On the night I heated up & served nibblies and Alex was bartender. It all went very well in spite of a LOT of rain! Paul had put up a tarp across on side of the outdoor area so we were all comfy and dry. I think we had enough food and drinks left over for another party! Oh well - no-one went home hungry or thirsty. As a bit of fun Rachel even did party bags with all sorts of lollies and chocolates in them. No-one wanted to miss out on them either!
