Nursery Graduation 2016

Four years have flown by since my grandson Alfie was born, and he has turned out to be quite a character. He is very confident and sporty, he can swim, play football, he is learning to play ice hockey, which he seems natural at, (his dad plays ice hockey). He lives at RAF Wittering as his daddy is in the RAF, thankfully because I live in the Nottingham area it isnt too far away. Last week his nusery at RAF Wittering had their graduation ceremony, the children made their own mortar board hats, and were all given a gown. The ceremony was done properly, with each child going up individually to the head of the nursery, who then presented them with their Gradfuation Certificate. I just thought it was a lovely idea and gave each child a sense of achievement. Now Alfie cant wait for big school and is counting down the days. I dont imagine in a few years time he will be doing that lol. I am looking forward to next week when my Daughter and Alfie are going to come and stay for a week. We plan to go to the annual Robin Hood Festival in Sherwood Forest. Who knows, I think Alfie will be a match for the scary Sheriff of Nottingham.

Crafty Affair at The Family Fun Weekend

Hi AllIve been mega busy over the last few months, as a volunteer coordinator and committee member for Ingleby Barwick Community Partnership (Stockton On Tees). A keen crafter and designer at Craftsuprint, here I am (center of photograph) enjoying the two day event I enjoyed planning with fellow IBCP volunteers Cath Oldcorn and Kristel Brown.We had 50+ stalls in the craft marquee on both days, including entertainment and refreshments. There was a fabulous atmosphere amongst the craft stall holders, customers and volunteers. Bringing the community together is a passion of mine and I enjoyed every minute of this event. I also had my own craft stall The Crafty Spaniel which is featured in the photograph. I make customised gifts and cards which are very popular amongst my customers. Other passions are my love of dogs and being a digital Craft Designer for Craftsuprint. I have two spaniels myself, hence the name The Crafty Spaniel. One of the next events will be our Christmas Fayre. Many of the carriages in the Remington Museum were used in his lifetime.Queen Elizabeth II of Canada along with her husband Prince Philip and her son Prince Charles rode in a Remington landau carriage whilst visiting Canada in 1973 and again whilst visiting in 1980.

Anti stress colouring by Anne Lever

I really didnt realise how many adult colouring books I had bought over the year, until I went to look for one and found this little pile! I have mandalas, animals, flowers, butterflies, cartoons, game of thrones, patterns, fractals, tattoos, you name it, I own it! I finally got myself in gear today, found my pens and started colouring. It really does de-stress, I must find time to do a little bit every day.

Visitor From Scotland by Joanna Swinton

I put an request on Facebook for cardmakers to help me. Soon after a lady from Scotland answered my plea. Since then our friendship grew and grew. She and her husband came to Birmingham for a visit and the 4 of us got on really well. Last October we went to Scotland and spent a week with them on their boat. On our first day we went into the sea at Inverness to see the dolphins. There were beautiful jumping and swimming under the boat. We took loads of pictures and it was the start of a lovely week. We sailed down the Caledonian Canal. The weather was amazing. We sailed from Inverness to Fort William stopping along the way for the night. We had a fantastic week visiting a lot of different places along the way. We even took our little pup Abby. We have kept in contact chatting over the internet often. She has made a lot of my cards for me too. She has come up for a visit and its great to have her here.

I have uploaded these amazing cards and other designs. They are really stunning when they are made and are very different than any that are found in the shops

A Small Triumph . . . by Kim Blundred

Spending lots of time outside with my cats, in all weathers, I decided to buy a Jack & Jill seat where I can place a parasol and at least stay dry. Having mauled with the package and endured sore hands from assembling it I was thrilled with the result . . . as were the cats! They now favour the seats over the old table and parasol . . . and Im left out in the rain again :-)The picture is Ralph basking on the seat.

Grandads Hat!! by Carol Clarke

We went to Clumber Park again for our Cuddle & Giggle Day this week. It was quite warm (we have had a bit of a heatwave here in the UK this week!) so after ice creams we went to play in the gardens. 17 month old Austin decided he didnt want to wear his own sun hat and took hold of Grandads and put it on .... Bless him he did look cute peeping out from behind the brim .... and he looked soooo pleased to be wearing it too! lolBelow are 2 more of my On the Shelf Sleeps till Santa Cards .... Advent Cards with a difference. They count down the sleeps till Santa Comes! Just turn the wheel once a day to reveal the next number, how cute is that!

Engine done! by Tina Fitch

All done now and very happy with the result, My first show is next weekend at Ford Fair! I have had nearly all the engine plastics covered in gold/brown pink effect with the exception of the inlet plenum which still needs to be done, But it needs to come off the car for me to do it and with the shows now upon us I dont have time.. Painting or getting it coloured is roughly 2 weeks and having the plenum off the car means I cant use it.I dont have a spare 2 weeks now till October in which time it will be too late so I will now wait till November when I can take the car off the road again to have it painted..So look forward to bring you my winning news LOLMy 4 day SALE of 20% discounts started yesterday and will continue till 31st which is Sunday... Brownie Camp by Kelly Barker

On the first day of the summer holidays my eldest daughter Jessica went on her first ever brownie camp! She had so much fun, but came home absolutely worn out and spent the next 2 days very grumpy as although she has always got up really early, she also needs to get to bed early, so the tiredness really caught up with her. The fun of camp started before she left as we had to make homemade cookies or cakes to take, to go towards her cookery badge. She was very excited that she had earned 5 badges while she was away, now I have to find a space left on her sash to sew them on. Jessica was only going away for 2 nights, but I think we may have over packed as you can see from the pictures. All the way from India! by Sue Way

Last December there was big farewell party for our very good friends Colin and Hannah who were off to India for 2 years. Colins job was taking him out there, so the whole family including their 3 little boys upped sticks & moved. It was a big change in their lives and we all missed them, especially Kelly (our daughter) our granddaughters as they have all been friends since playschool. Well a few weeks ago they came home for a holiday and they are very busy catching up with all their friends in England. Kelly has seen them a few times and we are all due to meet up next week. The other day when Kelly popped to see me and she brought me this gorgeous gift from Hannah all the way from India. Those were the days!! by Joan King

This photo of my two grand daughters in the UK was taken just recently at the local country fair. Seeing them in one of the dodgem cars brought back some great old memories for me of when I was young as I used to love fairs and especially the dodgem cars and the more you could hit other people the better he he. The faster things went the better it seemed to be, but now you wouldnt get me near anything like tha. I am sure they will be having heaps more fun as the summer holidays of course have now started. Lets hope they get some summer weather to go with it.
