My eldest daughter Jessica is coming up to her 8th birthday and has recently had a growth spurt! We have never really gone through the whole thing of her constantly growing out of her clothes and shoes, but recently that has changed. The other morning she was so stressed out because suddenly none of her trousers would fit her and were really short, cue a little shopping spree! Jessica had so much fun, especially as it was just me and her with no little sister in tow. This was one of our favourite outfits, only problem now is that she looks so grown up, where has my baby gone?!
This week we went to Clumber Park for our Cuddle and Giggle day out with 3 year old Olivia and 1 year old Austin. Olivia has always loved having a stick and likes to choose her own but this weeks stick was much much bigger than any shes chosen before! She carried it around for quite a while and wanted to take it home to show her Mummy .... and it took quite a bit of persuasion on our part to get her to leave it behind! lol
My little garden is really starting to come together, now the warmer weather is finally on its way. We have a brand new set of wooden garden furniture, replacing the very old green plastic set we have had for years. We have some colour in the garden already with primulas and these gorgeous violas. I have always loved twisted or corkscrew willow, and last year my daughter bought me some. She bought three small cuttings online, that were sent through the post. They had a few leaves last year, then were bare sticks over winter. I wasnt sure how they would fare, but in the past couple of weeks they have done amazingly well! Leaves coming from every part of them! My daughter and I are taking advantage of the good weather and having a day of planting.
Hubby has been off work this week and we have been lucky enough to enjoy some lovely sunny weather. We have been working very hard in the garden, but every morning we take our Golden Retriever Alfie down to the beach, as its only a few minutes walk away. Now he is getting older and has a bit of arthritis, we dont like him getting wet when its cold. But as its been so lovely he has had a few splashes and swims in the sea this week and is a very happy boy. We live on a rural block, 10 acres, and in all the time weve been here we get a big variety of wildlife. Every day we feed a variety of birds that come down waiting for dinner. But we have always had Kangaroos visiting at all hours of the day and night. Usually they will come in anytime from 3pm in the afternoon and we see them grazing down the back paddock. As sundown gets closer they will move closer up to the house. Early morning they are usually outside our front or back doors. There has always been around 5 or 6 that seem to stick together but weve also had anything up to 24 at a time. We watched last year as one female had a joey (a baby) in her pouch, saw it grow to the point where you could see this cute little face sticking out and then big enough to start grazing from the comfort of Mums pouch. He then was big enough to leave and follow Mum and Dad around. I suspected there would be another joey this year as weve had a little bit of rain which kept the grass green and lets just say Dad loved the female! Kangaroos have the ability to carry a joey inside their body until the first joey leaves the pouch. They will mate a few days after giving birth and the new joey will enter a dormant state until the first joey leaves the pouch. After 30days gestation the second joey will enter the world and crawl up to the pouch. They are amazing how the joey survives. They are not tame enough that we can touch them….. should see the size of their claws…… but they also know us and dont jump away. Usually they look up… oh its just you…. and keep feeding. Wouldnt want to mess with big Daddy….. hes huge and powerful. Show season has now started, I started getting things ready for my car back in December last year! With the price of everything you have to start early.. I had all the engine plastics sprayed which will be for another day as they have to be fitted to the car .But the gold Chrome on the exhaust tips is just to die for! Most exhausts are stainless steel colour and normally dirty hahahah mine are gold chrome and shiny... First Show I did was on Sunday just gone to Simply Ford at Beaulieu what a fabulous day we had too, Weather was warm much better than expected, We knew we were close when all the cattle and Donkeys were walking freely in the roads eating their way through the hedge rows .. Had to drive slowly didnt want any dents in the car ............Well the new Craftsuprint site is up and running .. During the bad winds we had a few weeks ago our facia boards at the side of the house took flight! So at the moment our house is covered in scaffolding and with two boys ( 7 & 5 ) it was bound to be a disaster!! So after days of telling my boys to stay away from it and play somewhere else we eventually had a accident, my youngest son was busy throwing a ball and ran straight into the pole! This is the result :( luckily there is no black eye today which im really pleased about because im off for a family holiday next Friday!! :D
