every fortnight i organise a craft workshop with our local ladies ,none of them had done stone painting but i think they really enjoyed it, the smiles on their faces said it all and their creations for first attempts were good ,i have taught them cardmaking broomstick crochet always thinking of new ideas xxthanks for reading xxHeather

A Quick Birthday Make by Sue Way

It is our granddaughter Jessicas 17th birthday this weekend. Along with her main present, we have bought her a few girly bits, like face packs and stick-on nails. I thought it would be nice to make her a makeup bag to put them in. I usually take ages to sew my projects, but I found a pattern online, grabbed some pretty waterproof canvas that I have been itching to use, and ran this up in an afternoon. Its not perfect, but I know she will appreciate that I made it just for her.

A couple of months ago I wrote about my 13 year old grandson Alfie taking up photography as a hobby. He started to take really great pictures just on his phone. Then he asked if he could borrow his mums Nikon digital camera to be able to take close up shots. He then decided to enter a youth photography competition, not with any expectations as he had only been doing it for a short while. My daughter messaged me today (Wednesday) to let me know he had only gone and won it. We were all shocked but so immensely proud of him. The picture is his winning photo of a bird perched high up in a tree. I think it is fantastic, but then Im bias.

… lucky to live just a short drive away from my local leisure centre and I go there at least 5 days a week. I joined just after it eventually opened after Covid lockdown ended. The pool is lovely and has a moveable floor which means when going to an Aqua Aerobic class its not only the correct depth but its the same depth for the whole pool! Theres even a lovely splash pool for the children with fountains and water slides too! Theres lots more going on though from a soft play area for kids to the gym, badminton courts, cafe, spin classes, yoga, seated exercise, Pilates etc etc etc! Sooo if Im not at home … my friends and family know theres a good chance theyll find me there! lol
