Step back in Time. by Helen Howell

Recently I had a few days away, and one of the places I visited was Sovereign Hill in Ballarat, Victoria, OZ. It is a Historical Re-creation of an old Gold Mining Town. Very interesting to walk around. I have been to see this place a couple of times before and never get tired of it. There is a main street with the shops of the time, there is a section on a gold mining camp and the conditions they lived and worked in. A street with houses of various sizes and expense was available to walk around and into - these were the luckier ones instead of living in tents. Of course there was also two gold mines you could go down on a tour. I thoroughly enjoyed my step back in time.

Wow what a night by Joan King

We recently got a blood orange moon which is not something you see very often. Quite striking in colour and It lasted for quite a while. Summer is officially now finished and we have gone into Autumn but although some places have been getting rain we have had virtually nothing and the temperatures are on average 24 degrees so lets hope it stays around like this for the whole of Autumn. Now that would be lovely. I am showcasing a couple of my latest Peeking cat designs today. There are four in total and multi linked together.

Pub Choir by Vicki Avcin

Recently the Pub Choir came to Brisbane for two nights. What is the Pub Choir? In 2017 Astrid Jorgensen formed the Pub Choir. It is an entirely improvised music session where a pub is filled to capacity and everyone sings. Well whether you can sing or not come along because by the end of the night you will be singing. What a night!! You turn up and they give you the song your singing that night, a couple of rehersals and learn what part you are signing and the magic happens. Both nights here in Brisbane were sold out and 300 people came to the Tivoli hotel each night. Astrid has taken her Pub Choir all over the world where there has been up to 3000 people in a stadium all singing the night away. The two shows here were sold out, no surprise there. But what a night!! Cant wait for the May sessions!

…. Weekend …. and another lovely walk! The weather was beautifully sunny again this weekend! I was up and about nice and early so it was a bit chilly too! lol. It was sooo worth it though! The sun soon came out and although still cold it made everything so much nicer, including the views! This country park is near Annesley Hall, which was home to Lord Byron. I had a lovely 10 mile walk, most of which was on footpaths, tracks & bridleways so I got to see lots of birds and wildlife, including a couple of hares!

Someone Elses Junk… by Janice McFarlane

…Is someone elses Treasure. As my husband and I live in a small one bedroom retirement bungalow storage for us is essential and precious. Now and again I do have a clear out of stuff Ive hung on to just incase. Usually the incase part never materialises so I usually have a good sort out and take it to our nearby charity shop. Now, the idea is to drop the stuff off and not come home with something else but on this occasion I couldnt resist. As we were leaving I spotted a small armoire, it was about 12 inches in height. It obviously had been painted and the owner must have been a heavy smoker as it was heavily covered in nicotine. Inside was a shelf, and some small brass hooks had been screwed in the back probably for keys. Unfortunately they poked through the other side as they were too long. I hadnt done a makeover in a long time but I saw the potential of a jewellery cabinet. Giving it a good wash and sanding it down, removing the doors, hooks, knobs and hinges I filled in the holes. I painted the whole cabinet white, then used black on accent areas. Finally I used napkins with a black and white floral print and glued them to the main body. I sealed the whole thing and put new hinges and door knobs on. The whole thing took me a week to do and I love it.

craft club by Heather Howes

Hello everyone i run a craft club every fortnight and we do everything from embroidery,knitting,painting,crochet and more this week i introduced them to making cards and how to download sheets from craftsuprint they all enjoyed it and made some great cards and have all now become members of craftsuprint to start downloading and making their own cards .

Cookie! by Sue Way

Last month my daughters rescue dog Cookie had to have an operation on her cruciate ligament. Recovery is slow, but steady after these operations, but Cookie took it all in her stride. We lent them our soft puppy crate so that she had somewhere she could be safe if they had to leave her at all. From the first day, before she had even had her op, she went straight in. Now she is almost recovered; she loves the crate and has made it her own, so my daughter offered to buy it from us. We of course said no Cookie can have it. When we saw this picture of her looking so cute in her crate, how could we take it from her?
