Treasuring Precious Moments

The last month few months havent been easy. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November and had an operation to remove it just before Christmas. I thought that would be it, but then found out in the new year I would have to have chemo and radiotherapy, followed by a few years of hormone therapy, which was a bit of a blow.I was really scared of having chemo, but I think Ive been lucky with up until now, because its not as bad as I thought it would be. Ive only had one cycle so far, and I did feel quite rough for a week or so afterwards, but last weekend I felt well enough to enjoy a night out at our sons favourite pizza restaurant. Nothing too crazy, but it was the most normal Ive felt since my diagnosis I think, and it was lovely to spend some quality time with my family.

New Post Box Topper by Sue Way

I get so excited when I see the new post box topper in the distance. We were having a lovely walk with the dogs in the sunshine, so the new topper was very fitting. Its Spring! I love the colourful flowers that the lady has knitted. What happy sight to see! I expect the next one to be Easter, I will let you know.

… lovely Great Grandson, Noah, is now six months old and its looking like he will definitely be a technology wizard! lol Im fairly sure that when my daughter (Noahs Grandmother) was the same age as Noah is now that she was happy lying in her pram or cot and being fascinated looking at a few toys strung across her pram or cot! lol

A Wicked Birthday by Janice McFarlane

At one minute to midnight on March 4th 1987 our daughter was born. Tuesday was Kayleigh Saaras 38th birthday (and yes her middle name is spelled right). As always I spoke to her on her birthday. As her husband Paul is on deployment in Cyprus her friends at RAF Benson were going to help her celebrate. One of her friends cooked her pancakes for breakfast with it being shrove Tuesday, and made her walk on the school run decked in birthday goggles and badge. On the evening her friends decorated her living room in green and pink balloons, because Kayleighs favourite musical is Wicked. One of her friends made a fantastic Wicked themed birthday cake. They all gave her either Wicked gifts or Cowgirl gifts (because she also likes the series Yellowstone). All in all she was spoiled, but had a fantastic day.
