The Grand old Age Of… by Janice McFarlane

…Sixty Three. Sunday, 23rd February was my 63rd Birthday. Wow I do feel more than my age but my mind still thinks Im sixteen lol. Oh how I wish I could have the energy I had back then. I suppose we all do when we head into these years. Ive never really been one to celebrate big, for me its just another day and a higher digit to my age. We dont have a big family, I have no other siblings, being an only child and my parents passed away years ago. My husband and I decided years ago not to buy gifts for each other and we do the same at Christmas only buying for our children and grandchildren. This year I asked my daughter not to bother as I didnt really need anything, but she wanted to get something, which was a pretty bracelet. It was lovely because the card it came on said Mam, which is unusual. We originate from the North East so it was a lovely touch. Apart from family cards, there were two special ones. One from a young lady who we used to take to church who, never forgets our birthdays even though we dont get to see her. The other was from my dearest friend who at this moment in hospital seriously ill and the outcome is not looking good, who still managed to text me from hospital to ask if I got her card ok. To me these cards were the most beautiful gifts.

We … by Carol Clarke

… had a great time with our youngest grandchildren this week. It was half time so we had time to spend doing all the things they love to do when they come to our house. Baking and Crafting (not at the same time! lol) are always on the list of things they want to do! Soooo …. we baked a crunchy Oat cookies - and WOW - they were delicious!! For crafting they made Easter Bunny hand puppets out of Crafting paper and things from my Crafty Stash! They also made some wonderful creations out of Lego … and we all played Ludo and a Snakes and Ladders using stones I had painted as counters and super large playing boards I had painted on the box a huge TV had come in …. Together with large wooden dice …. Ohh what fun we had!!

Drama Queens! by Sue Way

Golden Retrievers are known for being drama queens, and this week our two really took it to another level. My husband and I have both been unwell for the past few weeks, but Billy and Sam were very well behaved, even with their routine being disrupted. Just as we were starting to feel better, however, Billy developed a hot spot sore on his hip, and Sam split his nail at the beach! This is how they looked for a couple of days. Theyre both okay now, but it was clear they didnt want to miss out on the attention. Hopefully, we will all be back to normal soon.Today is the last day of my SALE!
