That Time of the Year. by Helen Howell

Its that time of the year when in late summer when those summer veggies and fruits are in abundance in the shops, all at a much cheaper price. Tomatoes caught my eye this year, although vowing I was going to have a break from making chutney, I have found the shop bought varieties cannot hold a star against homemade. So I took advantage of the good price now available and bought some, which I turned into my tried and tested tomato chutney. Lovely with cheese and cold meats - yum!

My latest sewing project. by Sue Way

I have just finished sewing another bag. I liked the look of this pattern, The Harley, which uses two contrasting fabrics. So, I had the idea to use black and white to give it a mod look. I had fun making it and I love the way it turned out. I will definitely make more of these as using different fabrics, colours and patterns will make every bag unique. Next on my sewing list is a coin wallet for hubby though, as he has been waiting for it for a while lol I have added some more Superheroes to my store. This time they are girl Superheroes, including Harley Quinn, Supergirl and Wonder Woman.

… just love this photo of my youngest granddaughter, Olivia which I took in June 2014 at Hardwick Hall. She is 11 now so she would have been 3 then …. The look on her face and her stance really make me laugh! This is the same granddaughter who has won sooo many medals for her running, she certainly gave us the run around when she was little! lol

Tunnel Vision by Janice McFarlane

My cat Bailey loves to play, he has a toy basket and regularly empties those out all over its like an obstacle course. He also loves to play hide and seek, usually in the bathroom, well I say bathroom its a wet room with a shower. Bailey loves to hide in the shower curtain with his tail sticking out and although we know where he is, we have to say gotcha and a game of tag ensues. Its a similar thing with his tunnel. He loves to hide at the top of his tunnel with his tail in the air, we then say we can see you and we get a tail swish as acknowledgement, then we have to say it a couple more times, we get the bum wiggle and he shoots down the tunnel to pounce and then he has his zoomies. He is a cat who knows what he wants, and of course we obey.

Where does ......... by Vicki Avcin

Your cat hide? Our old girl likes to keep us guessing as to her whereabouts around the house. Usually she sleeps on a foot stool in the lounge or on our bed. But every now and then she likes to keep us guessing where she is and finds new places to hide every now and then. We hunt all round the house and Im sure she lies there watching us thinking haha you cant see me. So far she has hidden behind the desk under my computer (hidden by a waste basket), in behind a chair in our bedroom, in the corner of the room where our grand daughter has her desk and between that and the shoe cupboard, and the other day she tried blending in with grand daughters shoes. We looked in that room a couple of times but she was curled up at the back of this space. By the time I got the camera she had made her self visible. Dont know if hide and seek is her favourite game or ours trying to find her!!
