… Weekend I went for a lovely walk in the countryside surrounding us. This time it was Down Weavers n Kennel Lane (as the locals call it! lol This is a fabulous Off Road walk through the lovely Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire countryside that I can walk from my front door. These lanes make a sort if triangle with the Kane at the base not having a proper name but referred to as Bottom Lane. There is a Surprise View that reveals itself after traversing a winding lane that always takes my breath away, even though Im expecting it! lol. Ive seen lots of wildlife when walking down these lanes over the years, from Pheasants to wild deer, rabbits and duelling March hares etc. This time it was a pheasant who (for some reason! lol) wouldnt stay still to have his photo taken! I really enjoyed my 9 mile walk … the bonus of not getting wet was very much appreciated too!

… this be one of the littlest England Supporters?? My great grandson, who was less than 2 weeks old, was supporting our footballers last weekend! Im not sure he understood what was going on though! lol He does now have a name as his parents have settled on Noah as his first name …. But … they are still deliberating over his middle name! Thank goodness hes too young to be bothered!

New Post Box Topper by Sue Way

Its been a while since we walked past the post box with the knitted toppers. But last week we walked past and noticed a new one. We were trying to guess what it would be as we approached. But of course, it could only be the Olympic Games 2024, which is being held in Paris. It starts on 26 July. I will be dipping in and out of it over the time it is one. I especially like watching the athletics. The topper features the famous Olympic rings, which represent the union of the five continents and the meeting of athletes from throughout the world.

Its cold! by Vicki Avcin

Yes it is winter. Yes it is supposed to be cold in winter but our winters are mild compared to other parts of the world so when we get frost it is still something of an eye opener. When the kids have been going to work in the morning theyve had to de-ice the windscreens on the cars. Usually Im still nice and snug in bed but Tuesday morning I got up a bit earlier than I normally do and went down to one of the cars and wrote on a windscreen……Signed Jack Frost. It was that icy that I had to get a stick to actually do it. Weve had frosts previously and just a fingernail would work to scratch the ice but not this time. Of course we dont get snow but also on Tuesday snow fell in Queensland at Spicers Peak about an hour and a half drive from here. There has been a few places on the border that have had snow flurries at night so its a bit of excitement and I guess a bit of wishful thinking that snow might fall more generally. A lot of people actually packed the car and drove three hours south where snow has fallen for a few days now. They are saying we are in for more cold days yet so the fire has been kept going all day this week. Our grass is dying off from the frost too. Roll on Spring.

Healing Nicely by Judith Henry

Two months ago I broke my shoulder. Oh My! What pain I was in. But now Im getting slowly back into designing. With rehab Im regaining my strength in movement. Of course, it was my right arm! Even changing my computer mouse to be used with my left arm did not help! But Im slowly coming back to redesigning some of my cutting file popup cards for cardmaking. Time off from designing gave me time to visit my fur buddy.

Marmalde Time by Helen Howell

Its now winter in Oz and in Victoria where I am it is fairly cold but at this time of the year we have an abundance of citrus fruits. Both my neighbours either side have lemon trees, so I am more than able to obtain lemons and oranges are freely available in the shops. So this is the time I set about making my orange and lemon marmalade - not too sweet and not to bitter - just right! Something to enjoy on my toast at breakfast.

Football Crazy by Janice McFarlane

We all know last week was the final of the Euros, where England had reached the final. There obviously was a lot of excitement in anticipation of the team finally bringing the trophy home. My two grandsons were ready to cheer them on and Harry, the youngest who is really football crazy decided to wear all four of his football strips to bring them luck. Alas it was not to be, the nation held their breath as once again the team was in the shadow of the 1966 World Cup victory. Harry was tearful at the end, as were probably a lot of adults too. But it certainly hadnt quenched his love of the beautiful game.

I was back in my happy place yesterday with my camera which has been stored away for months hahaThe weather has been horrendous really for this year.So when I got this shot I was very happy, this was the Anniversary jet last year but only now has the paint job on the air brake, not sure why it was changed really it really was a beautiful paint job.Im sure another will be on the horizon very soon
