My …. by Carol Clarke

… youngest son, Paul was competing in the indoors 800 metres Masters M35 race in Poland and representing The United Kingdom last week. As I said in my last mailer hed won his heat and was through to the final. Luckily we were able to watch his races live on You Tube (and rather vocally cheer him on too! lol) Im proud to say that he took the Silver Medal, having been pipped almost at the last minute by the Polish competitor! In my photos Paul is the one in front so you can see how close he came to taking Gold!! lol We are sooo proud of him!!

Taking the husband…….. by Vicki Avcin

To meet your mother! Last week hubby and I flew to Sydney so I could introduce him to my Birth Mother. Previously it was myself and both or one of my kids that came down with me. We flew down on Wednesday and stayed at the Mantra at the airport. Couldnt have given us a better room as it was on the 5th floor and overlooked the airport. I love my plane spotting so plenty of entertainment for me. First thing Thursday morning we headed off to the Aged Care and spent a wonderful two and a half hours with her. We left so she could have her lunch (they were having a BBQ lunch) and we headed off with my cousin to their place which is across the road from the beach. Of course I had to get the sand in my toes and the wind in my face but the water was a bit nippy to do too much paddling. We stayed at cousins for the night and then Friday we went and visited BM again as she had asked if Id come back. OF COURSE I WOULD. Another two hour visit and then it was off to the airport to head home. Short trip but a wonderful trip. Oh and BMs verdict on hubby…….hes a bit quiet. If she only knew lol Happy Easter everyone.

A new park just for us! by Rachael Dunne

This week weve been very excited about the new park and bus station thats opened just down the road from us. They started building it while I was off on maternity leave so it meant that many of our walking routes were closed. So weve all been paying close attention to the builders progress and eagerly awaiting its opening. Some of it still doesnt open till the end of April but this week weve been able to enjoy evening walks to the park in town, which has been lovely! We can now see new views of Stockport that weve never been able to see before. I cant wait till the weather gets a bit warmer so we can spend more time there!

Could it be Easter? by Janice McFarlane

Spring has sprung, its that time of year again when we make ourselves ill with chocolate, but somehow with the constant rain weve had the poor spring flowers have had a right old bashing with some not even blooming unless they are the hardened daffodils growing along the roadside, which do give a beautiful flash of yellow. The children at primary school have been busy with Easter projects, and of course the obligatory Easter bonnet/hat. Harry always likes to go full on with decoration and always adds something different. Im sure I spotted a dinosaur on it lol. Well whatever it may be, he has done a great job of his Easter hat.

Easter Bonnet by Sue Way

Today was Easter Bonnet Day at my youngest granddaughter Daisys nursery. So she helped her mum make her hat. Daisy designed it herself and Mum was a whizz with the hot glue gun. I think its beautiful. There are eggs and bunnies, a chick and even a carrot. Oh and of course lots of Daisies! She even wore her princess dress for the occasion.
