My ... by Carol Clarke

...youngest son was running again last weekend, and yet again came home with two more medals! hes in the middle at the back of the photo. This time he was running in the Midlands Masters Championships at Nuneaton. He won the gold medal in both the 800m and 1500m in very impressive times of 1.57.26 and 4.15.72 with the 800 time beating the Championship Best Performance by close to four seconds! Weve lost count of the medals, trophies and cups hes won over the year ... but its an awful lot! lol The rest of the team did brilliantly too, with lots and lots more medals for the Mansfield Harriers!

Wedding Day! by Sue Way

On Saturday we went to celebrate my nephews wedding. It was a lovely summers day, but very hot! The church is beautiful and surrounded by countryside. It is set on a hill looking over spectacular views, so made the perfect backdrop for the couple to have their wedding. After the ceremony, the reception was held in a beautiful hotel, again set in the countryside. The bride looked stunning in a pure white traditional dress that sparkled. It was a lovely day, so lovely to meet up with family and have a good chat and lots of dancing with my brother and sister. I love this picture of us siblings as we were leaving the church grounds. My sister looked so lovely in her fuchsia mother-of-the-groom outfit. Today is the last day of my SALE! With 20% off of ALL my designs!

More dolls for the Library by Patricia Platt

On top of my designing this month I have been busy gardening and making more dolls for the Library celebration next month. I have King Charles, Hungry Caterpillar, Mr. Happy, Mr. Bump, Jane Austin, Frankensteins Monster and Dracula. Also along with these is the first doll I have done and a piece of cake a few donuts and a pair of handcuffs. I am trying hard to do themes for the different shelves in the library. I still have a few more to do and the time seems to be running out on me. I have a flower garland yet to do and some book marks for the library to hand out. Along with a policeman for the crime section. And a rose for the romance section. Will get there I hope. I do have also an appt with the surgeon this week about my arm for dialysis. That hasnt been going that well lately. Big hugs to you all and thanks so very much for your patronage of my designs. xxxxx

Pennys Big Yellow Fun Day by Janice McFarlane

Last weekend was an event my Daughter helped organise Along with her best friend Stef. Stefs little 4 year old daughter was diagnosed in 2021 with cystic fibrosis. It has been a very trying time for the whole family, especially as Stefs hubby is in the RAF as my daughters husband is, and at times was away for long periods. Penny has been hospitalised a number of times after picking up just normal infections that other children would get over quickly. Through all of this the Cystic Fibrosis Trust was there to support the family when they needed it most. Earlier on in the year Stef wanted to give something back so Pennys Big Yellow fun day was devised as a fundraiser for CFT. Yellow is the colours and is also Pennys favourite colour. As part of the fundraiser my daughter and another friend would run a half marathon on the day so a go fund me page was set up. I was asked to design the posters and fliers which I gladly did, and on the day there would be a lot of family activities and stalls. Everyone was asked to wear yellow if they could. The day was a great success, the weather wonderful and over £2000 was raised. The picture is of my daughter and joint friend of Stef too - Clare who ran and the the Three collective families of my daughter, Stef and Claire at the end of the event.

Is it a stick? by Vicki Avcin

I was down the yard chopping wood for the fire a few days ago and just happened to find this little fellow on one of the old stumps. Well hes no so little really, hes over a foot (30cm) long. It is what is commonly referred to as a Stick Insect or a Gargantuan Stick Insect. Normally they arent seen as they blend into the trees and foliage and just look like one of the branches on the tree. I say he but it could be a she. These insects eat leaves, mainly gum and wattle and believe it or not are often kept as pets. They make great pets and dont need a lot of upkeep. They dont bite as such but do have strong mandibles. I think he/she is a beauty of a specimen.
