Moving... by Janice Shehan

Well it looks like I wont be moving north as it turns out. My dr. says because of my COPD I should stay out of the cold, so Im staying here in Florida, USA. Because of the 2 hurricanes earlier this year, the states orange crop production has dropped. I am glad hurricane season is finished for the year and look forward to a beautiful new year spring and summer. Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thermal shock by Carol Dunne

Not long returned home after a few weeks in Gran Caneria, This is the pool I swam in each day. We had a fabulous time and of course we ate and drank more that we should as you do on holiday. But what a shock to get home to temperatures of -6 Celsius and my garden frozen solid. Fortunately I had filled all the bird feeders up so that all the little birds could get some food.

Two of my latest designs for you to see.

Farmer Christmas by Janice McFarlane

Last weekend saw my daughter and family travel to Buckinghamshire from their home in Oxfordshire to a very special farm to see a very special guest - Farmer Christmas. The boys were excited to go and see him and had their appointment in the early afternoon. Until then there was plenty of great activities including gingerbread making, and hoopla on antlers as well as a special area where it snowed. There were also all the farm animals to visit and feed especially the boys favourites of goats and pigs. A special appearance of a couple of Farmer Christmas reindeer. Also the was a a gigantic tractor which Harry loved as he is obsessed with them. Then it was time for the big event of seeing Santa. Reporting back, my daughter said they had the best time and Farmer Christmas spent time with the boys and she thought he was the best they had ever seen.

Yummy! by Vicki Avcin

I used to never imagine eating Sushi. Raw fish just never did it for me until my daughter took me to a Sushi Train assuring me that not everything was raw. Well I loved it and whenever Id come down for a holiday it was a definite must that we went again. Now we are in Brisbane there are a lot of sushi places around and we are lucky that we have one place in the local shopping centre around the corner from where we live and Fridays after shopping its always sushi for lunch now. Ive wanted to learn how to make it myself…… it cant be that hard! Well the grand daughter makes it often and said shed teach me. So I bought a Sushi Kit that included the sushi rice, the seaweed sheets, rolling mat and some flavourings. Well I didnt know there was special rice, so just as well I didnt try and use normal rice…… must have sticky rice. (Sticky is an understatement!). So first night I tipped all the rice in to cook, big mistake. I had enough to feed half the country I think. Anyway, following the directions I got to putting it all together, rolled it and well it didnt really look like it should. I had chicken in that lot. Still had a pile of rice left so next day had another go with tuna in it which turned out a little more like it should but far from perfect. So Wednesday night for dinner I decided Id have another go. This time with salmon and avocado and quite proud of myself as it pretty much looked the part and didnt all fall to bits trying to eat it. So practice will make perfect one day, in the meantime Im enjoying being able to have sushi whenever I want now, not just Friday lunches.

This weeks items are two of my centre cutout designs. One an Australian Christmas design and the other a pretty floral design for Birthdays or Mothers Day

My …. by Carol Clarke

…. Youngest granddaughter, Olivia, was competing in the last of 3 cross country races this week. These 3 races were for the Nottinghamshire schools cross country competition. It was a very cold and frosty morning and Olivia was in some pain in her foot but bless her she still insisted on running! After a slow (for her!) start she gave it all she had and finished strongly to claim 4th place! But as it was a 3 race championship and shd came 2nd and 3rd in the previous 2 races she ended up in Silver medal position and as you can see from my photo she was delighted to be presented with a silver medal! Below are two of my Christmas Lantern Candle/gift Box Kits ... There are lots more to choose from too! lol

No matter what! by Tina Fitch

No matter what the weather this little fox dog comes for his food. I missed him for one day this week due to the snow and he just didnt come.I saved our lamb bone for him with of course his regular lunch snacks of minced meat balls..Its now coming close to mating season for them so I am presuming he will go off with his vixen to have a family but I just hope he comes back next year to show me his Kits (babies)The ones I was feeding last year didnt return, but this one is quite tame now he comes really close for his food.. He nearly comes to my fence now and I feel given a couple more months he will be allowing me to feed from my hands.

My Boy and Me by Sue Way

Our walks have been freezing lately, with the wind off the sea making it even colder. But on Sunday, even though it was still cold, the sun came and the sea was calm. The beach was deserted and we had a lovely relaxing walk with the boys. They of course still went for a splash in the sea. On the way back Billy came and walked really close to me, just like he was telling me how much he enjoyed our walk. I stopped walking and hubby took this lovely picture of us. Now is the time to make those money wallets and gift cards for any small or table gifts you are giving for Christmas. Here are just a couple of mine. I have many! lol

NZ Christmas Tree by Joan King

Well its that time of the year again - Christmas. One of the few things I like about Christmas is the New Zealand national Christmas tree. They line every street just about in the city where I live and many other centres of New Zealand. Depending on the weather they start blooming around late November and are in full bloom around now. They look awesome with their red flowers. We have one outside the front of our house but sadly they dont hold onto their flowers for much past the end of December. I suppose that is why they call it the National Christmas Tree. Here are two of my latest Christmas designs for 2022. I wish everyone a very merry Christmas and I pray we get a reasonable 2023.
