An A-Maize-Ing Day Out by Janice McFarlane

Well, its near the end of the school summer holidays. Hurrah I hear you shout. Alfie and Harry as a final day out went to Millets farm, not too far from where they live, to take part in the annual Millets Maize Maze. Its a large maze carved out of a field of maize and within it are various activities and fun things to do and complete. It took a while to get around and do all the various things but the children loved it, and the adults too. The farm is huge with a massive garden centre, play area and fantastic farm shop which itself is quite a size with mouthwatering homemade foodstuff as well as unusual preserves and cheeses. The Bakery is to die for and spoilt for choice. Of course the children loved the farm animals and had a thoroughly fantastic day.

Spring has Sprung by Vicki Avcin

It is officially now spring Downunder and gardens are coming to life. Ive always wanted some iriss after having worked in a nursery many moons ago but never bothered to get any bulbs. When we moved last year there was a couple of plants in the little bit of garden that I wasnt too sure what they were so I just let them be. Imagine my surprise and delight when one got some buds and it confirmed what they were. Once they opened up, sure enough some gorgeous purple iriss and I had my iriss finally. Different variety to what I had worked with back at the nursery but still, I had iriss. There was also another couple of leaves growing and I thought they might have been gerbras, another plant that I picked thousands of while working in the nursery. I was in charge of the gerby house and again had picked thousands. So in the last couple of days it too had buds and two pretty yellow gerby flowers have opened. The garden had been badly neglected by the previous owners so they are a little stunted but I will hopefully remedy that by next year. So along with a hot pink azalea and a white azalea, the iriss and gerbras have put a bit of colour to my garden this spring.

My designs this week are both Australian Christmas designs. Check out the gorgeous cards made from these designs below the listing.

What ... by Carol Clarke

... a week! Weve only recently returned from holiday but I sooo need another one!! Last weekend our youngest granddaughter fell off her scooter onto the road and broke her wrist. She had to have an operation to manipulate it into place and secured with a wire to help it mend too. ( I had a similar accident (not on a scooter though! lol) a few years ago and Ive got a metal plate in my wrist too!) So when we took her and her younger brother out for the day it was quite a trial finding things she could do without causing problems for her arm! Then just yesterday I was on my way to Specsavers as Ive got a problem with one of my hearing aids when I got stuck at the top of a steep junction, blocking the one way road, with my gear stick stuck in gear! Of course it was raining too! So I had to stand behind my car (I was on my own!) and explain to the other cars coming up causing a tail back of traffic that I couldnt move my car. Whilst at the same time talk to Greenflag and arrange for them to come and rescue me!! AAAAggghhhhh ..... Im feeling all het up just thinking about it now! lol Luckily it wasnt too long before they came and took me and my car to the local garage. All Ive got left to do now is wait till next week for the gear box plus slave and master to be replaced .... ohhh and then pay the rather hefty bill too!!! Roll on next week .... I can only hope and pray its not like this week! lol Below are two of my Animated Moveable Wobble Head Card Kits ... There are lots more to choose from too! lol

Pretty in peach, blossoms! by Amanda Assenbruck

Spring has sprung here in Queensland. We are told to expect more La Nina style of weather again this season, which really isnt needed but hopefully there wont be any bad flooding like earlier in the year. We know it is spring when the Peach and the Wisteria begin to blossom (the Wisteria is nearly there). This peach is a wild peach, our other peach tree takes a bit longer to come into flower though it does have some new shoots.
