Bed Buds by Janice McFarlane

Well what a week my husband and myself have had. For two and a half years, during the pandemic we managed not to contract Covid 19 in any variation. We had our vaccines, and to be honest we dont go out anywhere other than grocery shopping and church. So we were surprised at both of us testing positive within a day of each other. We wracked our brains trying to think how we may have caught it. That week we Definitely hadnt been anywhere especially the two days when the temperatures reached stupid degrees. The only thing we did do was administer first aid to an elderly lady who had passed out due to the extreme heat just outside our bungalow and she hit her head quite badly so was bleeding a lot. My husband had been outside with her a while whilst waiting for the ambulance. A few days after that we both fell ill with the new omicron variant. We were both quite poorly for a couple of days, but I attracted a pretty bed buddy. No matter how hard I tried to coax him off me, he just kept coming back. Im not a lover of big moths at all they freak me out, but this little one I could cope with.

Sleepover!!! by Sue Way

This week, as the summer holidays have started, we had our granddaughters Jessica and Imogen for a sleepover. On the first day, I had to work in the morning so grandad collected them and took them to a boot sale. Then in the afternoon, we took the dogs to the country park then grandad made a lovely dinner of all our favourite things, followed by waffle cone 99s and a walk to the little park on the seafront. In the morning, after a breakfast of croissants, went to the beach. The girls made sandcastles and the dogs played in the sea. We met a gorgeous little girl Golden Retriever puppy and Sam ran off with one of the buckets! In the evening we had another movie and popcorn night. My ... by Carol Clarke

... Beautiful oldest granddaughter Nina gets married next year and I have been wedding dress shopping with her, her mum (my daughter) and her sister (another of my granddaughters! lol) Of course I cant share any photos of the dresses she tried on, especially as she hasnt made a decision as to which dress shes going to choose. The small photos show some of the details from just a few of the dresses in the shop. This is the second shop weve been to and the choice is getting even harder! Its not helped by the fact that she looks stunningly beautiful in all the dresses .... but a decision will have to be made soon ... Im just glad that the final decision isnt mine! lol

Warwicks Jumpers and Jazz Festival by Amanda Assenbruck

Every year we have a Jumpers and Jazz Festival. People from all over the world knit jumpers to brighten up our poor leafless winter trees. The statue of an early local politician in the center of town gets a beanie and scarf. Over the years other knitted and crocheted art installations adorn various parts of our town. My pic is of a lovely installation applied to our local church. Apparently the fire truck was needed to get it up there!

Supporting the Cause by Vicki Avcin

Each year the Fire Fighter Cancer Awareness Foundation bring out merchandise where funds raised are used to support and assist Fire Fighters that have one of the 12 cancers known to have been caused by doing their duty. These cancers are covered by presumptive legislation and although 12 types are known causes, there is also investigations around the world that could indicate all cancers could also be attributed to firefighters doing their job. So the Foundation helps these firefighters and supports their families once a diagnosis is made. So each year as a once off they bring out T shirts/Polo shirts, caps, and this year hoodies. In the past few years its been Real Firefighters wear Pink (supporting breast cancer) and this year they went Real Firefighters wear Blue in 2022 (supporting prostate cancer). I have purchased the Polo and T shirts the last 5 years so this year I thought a hoodie would be great now Im living where it gets really cold. It arrived on Tuesday and already its had plenty of use as its so warm and comfortable.
