Royal Fly Past by Janice McFarlane

I hope everyone enjoyed the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, whether just east hung on tv or having a street party knees up. Whichever it was, this country is certainly second to non in all of the pomp and pageantry befitting of Royalty. Of course no Royal celebration would be without the formal event of her majesty and other royals appearing on the balcony at Buckingham Palace to wave to the thousands who have come to celebrate with her. Of course there is always a fly past and this one was certainly more extensive. More often than not everyone waits in anticipation for the Red Arrows, but there were a lot of other aircraft involved. RAF Benson in Oxfordshire, where my daughter and family live saw quite a few different aircraft on their way to London, but were particularly proud of the involvement of the Chinook and Puma helicopters which are based there, were part of that fly past.

Another year.......... by Vicki Avcin

Older but debatable if another year wiser! First of June is officially the first day of winter here and it also happens to be my Birthday. Ive always hated my birthday because it heralds the cold weather arriving, which it usually does. We have a football series here State of Origin where us Queenslanders go up against New South Wales in a series of 3 games and its held early June. It also heralds the first frosts of the year around the time of the first game. The cold temperatures arrived on schedule but the frosts held off a week and arrived this morning……… the first game in the SOO was last night. So cold weather is not what I want for my Birthday!! I did have some nice things though. Got time to spend time with the kids and some lovely presents. Got a Birthday pack of Scratchies (lotto tickets) which Im glad to say there was some winners in them, some lovely flowers and my daughter took me shopping for a new coat. She knows how much I feel the cold and after living in tropical/semi tropical climate she figured I could do with a jacket that was super warm. I love it. Wore it this morning when the temperature was 1 deg (feel like temp was minus 3) and was so warm in it. Pulled the hood up and although I only had a sleeveless top on underneath (had to have blood test so no good wearing a long sleeve) I didnt feel the cold at all. So despite the freezing temperatures I had a great birthday.

This weeks designs are two more of my toppers. One a set of 6 vintage florals and the other 2 silhouette designs in black and gold.

...nother week .... Another park! lol It was the half term holidays here in the Midlands and so we got to have a lovely time with our youngest grandchildren. A trip to the local park (known as the Rec! lol) followed by a picnic lunch and games both in the park and back at our house! They are far too big now for the small bikes now but they love to race down our garden path on them! lol Below are 2 of my Floral Diorama Shadow Box Card Mini Kits .... theres lots more to choose from too! lol

In the last news letter I mentioned that I had been to visit friends in Maryborough (Part of the Gold Triangle from gold rush days). While I was with them the took me out to learn how to use a gold detector. Just a few yards from where they lived was an old gold field - well and truly mined. Anyway I held the detector as shown and started to search, within 10 minutes of searching guess who found gold! Yes me! They said it was unusual for anyone on their first go to find gold. The tiny nugget I found weight one third of a gram and in todays market that was worth $25. Now I have to try not to get gold fever

Jubilee!! by Sue Way

I hope you all enjoyed the Jubilee celebrations! We put the bunting up and had a little street party in our courtyard. There arent many of us, but we had a lovely couple of hours chatting, eating sandwiches and cake and drinking Pimms in the sunshine. Billy and Sam sat in the front garden watching us and were so good. I think I should have dressed them as Corgis.
