Working again by Vicki Avcin

Last weekend Australia had their Federal elections. These are held every 4 years where the country decides who will run the nation. Ive worked at elections for both the AEC (Australian Electoral Commission) and ECQ (Election Commission Queensland) which runs both the State and Local Council elections for many years now. This time I was a Declaration Officer which is for people who cant be found on the electoral role at their current address or are not on the roll in the electorate they are voting at. Reasons are they havent changed addresses when theyve moved or they may be visiting someone but live in a different electorate within Queensland. People from interstate have to go to a polling place that takes interstate voters. It was an extremely busy day, busiest Ive ever done in all the elections Ive worked at and just to add insult to injury the rain hammered down all day. We thought people might have prepolled because of the weather but seems not. So Ive done my part this time round and now just wait to be paid in a couple of weeks. Next election will be a State election in a couple of years and Ill reapply to work again. I love doing it.

This week my cards are more male themed designs.

So Much Inspiration... by Clare Walker

One of the things I`m *so* enjoying getting back to this year is wandering round the lovely parks and gardens that we`re oh-so-very-lucky to have in London. The inspiration to be had there on every visit (at pretty much every time of year) is phenomenal.Am sure have talked about Holland Park before. But this year its back to its beautiful best and full-on whimsy (the giant chess-set was actually in use when we visited, for example). This beautiful blue-purple-mauve (it depended on whether or not the sun was out) iris is just one tiny example of their gorgeous planting. The vibe there has *such* an air of fairy-tales about it that this may have been our first visit for a year or so...but it wont be the last...

These two beauties are new this week, and ready for wedding season...

Fini flight by Tina Fitch

I had the privilege of an invite to Crows Fini flight yesterday. His last fight for 494th FS from Lakenheath. And what a show it wasThe flight and the ceremony after was just something special. Ive never been to anything like it and whilst I enjoyed it it was an eye opener to what goes on in the military.I met crow 5 years ago at RIAT and been photographing him ever since. Hes now off to his new base to learn a new skill of flying the F-35a lightning. So he may be moving for now but hopefully be back in the future

I ... by Carol Clarke

... Had a lovely trip out with my husband Terry recently to a Garden Centre that has an Art Gallery, Farm Shop and restaurant. We had to wait awhile in the car on arriving though as no sooner had I parked the car when the heavens opened up and we had the most torrential downpour!! If wed ventured outside wed have been totally drenched! lol Luckily it didnt last too long and we were soon able to make a dash for it - brollies in hand! lol We had a lovely meal and wander around the plants etc before buying a few rather naughty but nice comestibles from the Farm shop and taking a look in the Gallery. These lovely horses were on display outside! Below are 2 of my Flower Pot Friends 3D On the Shelf Card Kits .... theres lots more to choose from too! lol

Not in a Jam! by Janice McFarlane

On the 30th May my youngest grandson will have reached the grand old age of five. It doesnt seem like five years, or it may be Im just getting old and the years fly by a lot faster. It was only a couple of months ago when Harry discovered Bugs Bunny and he became enthralled. So when asked what theme he wanted for his birthday party Harry said Bugs Bunny. My daughter was panicking where she would get Bugs bunny themed party stuff from, then Harry watched the movie Space Jam and that then became the theme for his party. Harry had his party last weekend and a friend made him a basketball cake to which he was thrilled.

Another lovely walk by Sue Way

We had a little bit of sunshine last weekend and enjoyed some lovely walks to our local country park again. Its so beautiful there on a sunny morning. With lots of grass for the boys to run around, bushes to run through and lots of sniffs to be had, they are very happy boys. And we get to watch them play and take in the wonderful views. So relaxing. My 4 day SALE starts on Saturday with 20% off of all my designs!

Blooming by Amanda Assenbruck

It is winter in a few days time here but we are yet to have a frost. We can usually get a frost from late April onward. I guess the wet weather has had something to do with it. Today it is mostly sunny for the first time in a long time, ive even managed to get some washing on the line instead of in the dryer. But the wet also keeps the pollens in check so here i was this morning sneezing my head off while taking pics of this lovely wattle in flower.
