Summer ending by Janet Morley

Summer in New Zealand is slowly turning into Autumn, but a trip to Mount Maunganui was a great way to spend some time in the sun after a busy few months. Unfortunately covid is still dampening spirits and we have just come out of isolation ourselves, just about gone now but this image is a cheer up of a lovely day in the sun.

Work and covid stopped me starting designs, so bring on Autumn and a bit more time for me.

Unrestricted by Tina Fitch

This is the Friday playtime at the Heath!Unrestricted climbs by the 493rd GrimReapers. But not for much longer. Their time with us is getting shorter and shorter and very soon theyll all go back to the states and be replaced by F-35As. So we have to get there and photograph them for as long as we can.Another 3 of the 10 left will go next week. So hen we will be left with only 7. And these unrestricted climbs out are much better from a Reaper F-15c than a strike- eagle due to the weight. F-15c only holds one pilot so much lighter indeed So thats all from me this week. Ive got Christmas Specials for you this week. Yes I know its early but Im organised this year.

And so it begins...... by Vicki Avcin

Renovations have started on our new home. We purchased the property sight unseen due to Covid and just from the photos on the real estate ad we knew there was a fair bit of work to be done to it. What we werent prepared for was just how much work needed to be done. My son had seen the property and said that all the ceilings throughout the house needed to be replaced. But due to the steel structure of the property we knew it was structurally sound. Only one photo of a bedroom showed significant damage (this room we named the holey room). Another bedroom we named the blood room (as blood was found smeared on the back of the wardrobe doors) and another room was just the light blue room. The first room as you walk in will be the office rather than a bedroom and then there was the master bedroom. So last week, my daughter and son came down and we got stuck in and ripped out the walls and ceiling in the holey room, the ceilings in the blood room and the light blue room (the walls in these rooms just need patching not total replacement). Over the weekend hubby and I put the walls up in the holey room and then Tuesday my son and daughter came again and we got the ceilings up in all 3 rooms. The place already looks so different and now not worried about what might lurk in the walls. We have a family member that is a plasterer and he will come in and do the cornice and plaster all the joints for us. Our next big job is replacing ceilings in the family living area and the office. We will be also doing a fair bit of changing some walls around and totally rebuilding the kitchen. But the Renos have begun and lots of sore muscles ahead. Excited to see it all coming together over the months ahead.

This weeks designs are some pretty butterfly bookmarks and a set of various inserts for your cards.

Easter Parade by Janice McFarlane

Gosh, Easter has come around really quickly, even though it is quite late this year. Needless to say the children are ready for their Easter break and certainly more freedom than they have had in the last couple of years with all of the lockdowns. The school Harry and Alfie go to always have an Easter parade, and the children are encouraged to make their own bonnets to wear. This year however, Alfie was no too enthused as now he has turned 10 he feels he is too old for this, so he reluctantly decorated his hat. Although he did cheer up to try and make it a bit more trendy by sticking a super Mario figure on the top. Harry, embraced it and enjoyed every moment as is excited for his first Easter parade.

Super Sam is 9 months old! by Sue Way

I didnt stop to think about it I just scooped him up! He has had another growth spurt this month and is as tall as Billy, but he still has some filling out and fur growing to do. He still has a puppy brain though and doesnt realise how big he is, but he is lots of fun. I wonder if I can pick him up next month!!!!!!!

Desert Rose by Amanda Assenbruck

This summer I put my poor old desert rose out in the sunshine, it usually lives in my south facing kitchen year round. I also re-potted it and look how happy it is! This is the first time it has flowered in years (probably since i brought it home from Mums, she would be very pleased.) I think the second bud will open before it is time to once again bring it inside as the weather is now turning colder.
