Drop In by Janice McFarlane

My grandson Alfie joined a skateboard club on the RAF camp where he lives. At first he was the youngest one there, with the others all being adults. Now the club has grown to include more youngsters of Alfies age. Its taken a while for him to get going but he does really love it and has now started to do some tricks. A competition has been running to give incentive to the members the prize being a skateboard deck. To win it they had to be the first to do what they call a drop in and two coping tricks whatever they are. Alfie managed to smash it, and he was thrilled to bits to be now the proud owner of a new deck.

Grand Daughter # 6 by Silvia Griffin

I only have one Daughter but she has blessed me with 6 Grand Childrens. Four boys and 2 girls. Her first child also was a girl but she has Downs Syndrome and is now 15. This last baby also a girls is now her best friend and she is taking care of her with a delight. I was able to go to her and help her out for 2 weeks since I do not live near her. Hope fully we will be able to do another trip next month. Her name is Finnley and she is not giving us any problems. Sleeps well and smiles allready.

And just like that ..... by Sue Way

... another month has passed and Sam is 8 months old! I really struggled to pick him up this time, he is a big boy. I couldnt lift him to weigh him, so hubby had to do that. He is so funny, when I get the scales out he sits in front of them waiting for me to pick him up. Goldens dont seem to realise how big they are. Wish me luck for picking him up next month lol

... Spent a lovely day at our youngest sons last Sunday. The weather wasnt playing fair though as it was rain, rain and even more heavy rain! Soooo we had to entertain ourselves indoors. After playing a few board games seven year old Austin decided hed like to wear his Spider Man outfit. As soon as hed got it on he hopped up onto the chair and adopted this iconic Spider Man pose! I just had to get a photo of him!! Below are 2 of my 3D Mothers Da Kits .... theres lots more to choose from too! lol

What a Week by Vicki Avcin

It has been a very very wet week this week from Maryborough to the border, and now right down the east coast to Sydney with record smashing rainfalls/floods, and we arent done with it yet. Massive storms happening here today, with even more severe ones for tomorrow and the weekend. Where we are weve been on an island with no roads in and no roads out as all 3 bridges underwater. Henderson (picture showing the rise, with eventually the solar panel going under) and Flagstone Ck well over the road. The third bridge, Payne bridge was supposed to be flood proof but it also went under. That one is kind of a white elephant because even though people might be able to get over that they cant get out because Henderson floods even with a lot lesser amount of rain. 1974 floods were the biggest for about 100 years and this rain bomb easily beat that. Our house was fine but the low point in the back yard became a raging torrent of water which was much higher than the water as ever been. All our family were fine as far as our houses went but my son had his trucked parked (red one) in the work yard and the water came up that quickly that no one could get trucks out. He went through waist deep water to move it to higher ground, which they managed to do by dragging it with another truck which at that stage was on higher ground but the record flood eventually claimed them all. It will be a write off with the insurance company. The Brisbane Markets which supplies all fruit, veg and other food was totally underwater so no food deliveries for most of the state. The main highway was closed for days with trucks stranded due to flooding. To top it off weve had no power, phones (not even mobile data) and internet for 4 days. So checking in on other family has been impossible. We are lucky we got it back finally Wednesday but still many places without services. No post, no garbage service, just one big mess and play the waiting game till things can return to normal. We had 600mm rain and some places had over 1000mm over a few days. My story next week might be about the webbed feet we reckon we will all grow!! My heart goes out to the thousands of people that have lost their houses and businesses in this severe weather event. So sad.

Daddy Fox by Tina Fitch

This is the new Fox Dog, he was sitting at the top of the bank waiting for his lunch, He now is fetching for his mate too as she is heavily pregnant... She doesnt come out much now well not where I can see her.. Last time was last week she popped down for a bite to eat then quickly went back to hide.Look at him he looks so proud laying there.I am thinking we only have a few more weeks left before the babies are born, Then I wont see her at all, so I have to make sure the fox dog takes enough to fee both of them and of course the cubs for the first few weeks.I am really looking forward to seeing the new ones

Extraordinary Rain by Amanda Assenbruck

Queensland and NSW have been experiencing another rain event this past week and expecting some more rain over the weekend. This weather is usually only brought on from a cyclone but not this one, it is very unusual. Some places have had over a meter of rain and terrible flooding has occurred. We have had about 140mm the last 7 days, we are up on a hill so dont get flooded and so far the creek hasnt prevented us from getting in or out of town (which is good as I am getting a very painful tooth pulled today). But of course we feel so sad for everyone that has been impacted. Some homes have now gone under multiple times during and since the 2011 flood. If we had still been in Brisbane that would have been us. All the tanks are full, the dams are full and this is our pond.
