Race at Your Pace by Janice McFarlane

My daughter who started running a few years ago for fun and exercise seems to be taking it more seriously now. With quite a number of medals to her name. Some for running half marathons and others to achieve set goals by various organizations. Race at Your Pace is one such organisation where monthly goals are set and if achieved medals are given out for that particular milestone. Last year in total she ran over 800 miles, even during lockdown she ran round the garden and hired a treadmill so she could keep her fitness levels up. So she has just received a medal for her grand total of miles she has ran, which is brilliant. This year she has joined another organisation where her goal is to run the equivalent mileage from Landsend to John OGroats which is over a thousand miles. She is also going to be entering the ballots this year for the Great North Run and the London marathon. I am so proud of her achievements so far, and look forward to monitoring her progress in 2022.

TV Lover! by Sue Way

Sam is fascinated by the TV. He sits with hubby and watches football most days and cricket when its on. Today he found snooker almost as amazing. Over Christmas he was very concerned about the meercats in a wildlife documentary and loved hearing Julie Andrews singing in the opening sequence of A Sound of Music. He is such a sweetheart.

Last week Maryborough had one of the biggest floods in recent years after a massive 600mm of rain fell in the area in a day. Some places didnt get quite that much but it fell in the catchments of the Mary River. It was the remnants of TC Seth that hovered around the east coast for over a week and then went inland just south of Maryborough. Maryborough has a park dedicated to the veterans in which there is a section dedicated to Duncan Chapman who was the first soldier to set foot on the beach at Gallipoli. This Veteran Trail was opened after the last flood had occurred so when this flood came down a very daunting scene was created. It shows Duncan with several boats behind him filled with red flowers and him setting foot on the beach as the flood water rose like it was recreating the scene on 25 April all those years ago. The water inundated the area but as the rain came down this photo was taken. The water rose to about his waist height. These are real life size statues. The cleanup in Maryborough is happening now and I feel down as this is the first time I havent been there to do my bit. But Im sure the crews there will have Maryborough sparkling again by the end of next week.

.... its turned really cold again here in the Midlands this week. Its such a shame that the snow has arrived after the Christmas Holidays and when the children have gone back to school though! We dont really get the snow that we used to get when my children were small though. Many were the times when everything ground to a halt. Roads were unpassable to cars and buses and wed got enough snow to attempt to build an igloo! lol Even better were the snowball fights we had with adults and children alike coming out onto the road to have fun in the snow! lol Below are two of my On the Shelf Hearts Love & Romance Card Kits ... New Kid on the block by Tina Fitch

Well I have been slightly upset the last couple of weeks really due to my foxes going their own way.. I hadnt seen them for most of December and now we are well into January and I have only seen 2 of the older ones... The Vixen has been down and one youngest one I have seen once and one of the twins but the others have just disappeared.Until yesterday when I saw one I had never seen before and low and behold its another Fox dog (Male Fox) and he is just beautiful! At first I thought it was a vixen as the face was quite slim but after him turning his back on me I then knew he was a male.. Wont say no more on that subject LOL..He seems to be a bit more placid than the others as he stays while I am taking photos and they others dont always do that, with the undergrowth hardly grown now he has no issues with coming to see me.. I think he looks rather like a Pomerainian in looks hahahah, He seems to be hunting with his mate but she keeps rather hidden for now.. anyway I just hope they grace me with their cubs in March to July when they are big enough to be taken out

As i was going up the back the other day to let our chooks out for a bit of a stretch I heard an odd noise coming from a tree near the chook pen. I new it wasnt our Tawny Frogmouths who often roost there. I couldnt see anything in the tree so walked around slowly to better hear where the noise was coming from until i found the tree. Then it took a bit of looking and way up in the branches were 4 Galahs so i came straight back to the house for my camera. It nearly took full zoom but i did get some pictures of them.My cards today are Valentine themed. The heart card will be coming in other colours soon.
