Jumpers and Jazz in July

by Amanda Assenbruck

Our trees are all dressed to keep them warm! Our annual event is going well, we have missed the lockdown that had affected much of South East Queensland and it is good to see the visitors come to town. There was a good turn-out for the display of vintage cars on the weekend but the ground was soggy in the park so our J&J markets this weekend have been moved out of the park.

BIRD SCULTPURE by Wanda Lipski

This week Im sharing with you a photo of a new wooden sculpture that has been added to one of the door in our wood panelled dining room. The way I took the photo it does rather look like a wooden addition to the ornate sculpting on the door! No as youve guessed it was a live visitor that spent a good half hour in the house, totally unable to find the exit. I finally managed to catch him and take him outside. To feel that warm little body and the beating heart was quite a moment. He left me a feather as a thankyou present and quite a few bird poops!!! Just to tell you all that all my calendars have been updated and are now in 2022 versions with add-ons calendar panels available so that you can keep using my designs over and over again. Keep an eye out because all my new designs for 2022 will be uploaded during the summer. Enjoy the summer, dont get sunburnt and stay safe.

Gnome-mans Land by Janice McFarlane

Last Sunday was the first physical Craft Fair since lockdown began. It was held in the village near to me. I think everyone must have been very creative during this time because when it was announced people went crazy and there were over 60 stalls booked. Which is the most stalls they had ever had. The draw back though, was the intense heat, it was horrendous. I was lucky to a certain extent as I was indoors so was in the shade but as there was no breeze the heat was just as bad. I had two tables of crochet and needle felted items, although the picture is just the one with mainly my gnomes. It was well attended given the heat and I did really well, so I am grateful for that. I did manage to have a walk round the other stalls, and there were some amazing products, some extremely unusual I could have spent a small fortune, but in my small bungalow I would have nowhere to put them. So heres to the next ones, I better get cracking!
