Rain and Roses by Vicki Avcin

Well the past week saw us get just on 100mm of rain. Its gone for a few days now but supposed to arrive again tomorrow (Friday) and despite a few very cold days one thing that isnt complaining is my garden. My roses (my one rose bush that I havent managed to kill) has been flowering well. I love this rose bush as the buds come out a very deep bright pink, just not quite red, and open up to this gorgeous lavender pink petal with a hit of the darker pink on the edges. The photos show the buds and the open bloom………. They are just gorgeous. I struggle whether to cut and bring inside or leave them on the bush as they add a pretty bit of colour to the garden.

My promo today is two new uploads both pretty Christmas designs. One is a pretty blue design and the other is Aussie florals.

Naughty Fox by Tina Fitch

Here is one of the Cubs. This is the little female shes so cute. But I think she got a little fed up with my camera lens. When ever they come and visit Im out there snapping. This shot caught her sticking her tongue out at me. Today Thursday I had the railway people in to tend to trees at back of my garden due to them getting over tall and the wind and rain makes them shed and it goes everywhere, could become dangerous if it falls on one of us or the glass conservatory roof. Not sure how the foxes are going to take the change as they come for breakfast lunch and dinner LOL. Ive asked if they can move the branches cut to inside so the foxes still have the log they sit on to let me know they are there. So will let you know next week if they continue to visit

Flight of the Puma by Janice McFarlane

Ive mentioned many times that my daughter and family live on base at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire. It is home to Chinook helicopters which are used in air assault missions when in combat, and Puma helicopters which are also used in a variety of combat roles, including the tactical movement of troops, weapons, ammunition and stores on the battlefield, as well as the extraction of casualties and in response to medical emergencies on the frontline. It is also employed during non-combatant evacuations, and humanitarian and disaster relief operations. On Wednesday the 7th of August it was the Pumas 50th Anniversary, and a squadron were flying around the country in honour of that. My daughter sent me a video and a photo of the Pumas returning back to base in formation, whilst my youngest grandson Harry looked on. I look forward to taking a closer look at these work horses, when I go to stay with my daughter in August at the base Families Day

Octopus Hunt! by Sue Way

Last week I told you about the Octopus Ahoy! art sculptures that form a public art trail across our area, Well at the weekend we took the girls on a little octopus hunt. They downloaded the app onto their phones and off we went. They were so excited to spot the next octopus in the distance and were running off to scan it and read about it, then looking at the map to see where the next one was. As its on all through the summer holidays, we are hoping to scan a few more before they go. Here they are posing with one of the sculptures in front of a new mural on the seafront.
