My Grandson was 16 yesterday, he was lucky enough to get tickets with his Mum and Dad to and see The British lions playing against Japan, in Murrayfield, on Saturday the day before his birthday. He was lucky enough to get to meet some of his rugby heroes! It made a great end to his week after his exam results !! 6 straight A !! We are really proud of him. Here is the card I made him

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Ive always adored my youngest grandson Harrys beautiful curly locks. Its something he suited, but I knew a time would come when eventually they would have to go for practical reasons, that being he starts school in September. But it did come as a shock when my daughter text me at the weekend saying so this happened unexpectedly today, followed by a photo of a little boy with a very short haircut. I must admit it took a few seconds to sink in at who I was looking at, then realized it was Harry. Nooooo! I messaged back. She said it wasnt planned, although she knew practically he would have to have his hair cut before school. she said he just wanted it out of the blue so his dad took him to the barbers. She said she did get a bit emotional as she hadnt had time to process the dramatic change, but Harry wanted it and absolutely loves it. Thankfully the barber gave her the remnants of his blonde curly locks to keep. It took a bit of getting used to, but he does suit it, and to me he is still as cute as ever.

Octopus Ahoy! by Sue Way

Another celebration marking 100years of our town. For 10 weeks this summer the Octopus Ahoy! art sculptures form a public art trail across our area to celebrate the Mayflower 400 project and 150 Years of Clacton.The art trail features 30 4ft-by-4ft octopus sculptures, which can be followed on the Octopus Ahoy! app every time you find an octopus you can scan the QR code on the plinth of the sculpture and it may you earn a prize!These large octopus sculptures will be auctioned towards the end of the project with all profits going to local charities. I managed to scan quite a few just walking along the prom from our house to the pier and back, but there are many more dotted around the area. It will be fun doing it with our granddaughters over the summer holidays.

... Had another lovely sunny walk this week down the local lanes and saw some lovely poppies in the wheat fields. We are so lucky to be surrounded by beautiful countryside. And we are even luckier to have lots of footpaths, bridleways, tracks, lanes and permissive paths in almost every direction! Sooo it would be rude not to take advantage of them .... Those pots of gold! Weve had a rather wet start to our winter this year with 70mm of rain in June. Not all has been continual rain, most being patches of showers with the most in one day being 37mm. In between the showers/rain weve had sunshine giving us some lovely rainbows. A few days ago we got this beautiful double rainbow which hubby got this photo of. It did look like it touched down just up the road and I said to him that maybe we should go look for that elusive pot of gold that is supposed to be at the end of every rainbow. We didnt so still havent been able to cash in that gold!

Brother and Sister! by Tina Fitch

Just look at them! These two visit me everyday for their snack.. Two beautiful wild foxes... A boy and a girl from what I can see.. the boy is at the front of the photo, He is much bolder than his Sister who always stays in the background.I was out for 3 hours solid to catch them both together... I saw them playing but couldnt get high enough to catch them both together.I then had a thought! I went up to my bathroom opened the window wide and took loads of photos from there, They could hear the shutter going but they couldnt see me so carried on playing and sitting with each other.I feel really blessed i have this to look at daily..

Rifle Falls State Park, Colorado, USA

On our road trip a few weeks ago, we went to see the waterfalls at the Rifle Falls State Park in Colorado. My photo shows the triple 70ft waterfall flowing over a travertine dam on East Rifle Creek. Brown and Rainbow Trout can be caught in the creek and there are many species of wildlife that can also be seen in the area.There are 2 miles of hiking trails around the park and we went on the one which leads up and around the top of the falls. Along the trail, there were a few small caves too that we were able to walk into. As you can see from my photograph it was a glorious day weatherwise with blue skies and not a cloud to be seen!If you are ever in the area it is well worth a visit!.I am promoting one of my Shop Shaped Decoupage Mini Kits (Nail Salon) and also my brand new Arched Window Shop Shaped Decoupage (Coffee Shop), both of which are on Special Offer currently!
