Paddling at the Park by Aibhne Paton

Myself, my youngest children and a friend who travelled approximately 400 miles to visit us went paddling in my local park this week where we met an adorable duck who was completely oblivious to our existence. We also got to see baby fish and tadpoles in the riverbed. The waterfall was flowing well despite there not being much rain recently. It was a beautiful day, we even had ice cream.

The Long and the short of it!

As lockdown rules ease, its been lovely to see families being able to get together after long periods of being apart. My daughter and step-daughter are very close as sisters, so it was lovely after 18 months the two families were able to get together in Oxfordshire where my daughter lives. Its amazing the changes to our grandchildren in that period of time. Jack, who will be 13 in September is as tall as my daughter at 56 and still growing. Evie who is 9 I think wont be far off catching him up. Then of course there is Alfie who is also 9 who is a little shorter than Evie and then pint sized Harry who is 4. It was lovely to have a current picture of them all together, I wish my eldest granddaughter who is 14 could have been there to make the picture complete. I am looking forward to going to Oxford in August to stay with my daughter and grandchildren whilst her husband is out in Iraq with the RAF. We speak on the phone regularly and she always sends me lots of pictures but I am so excited to be seeing them after a long 18 months.

Cubs by Tina Fitch

Well here they are.. 4 cubs from MUM and Dad... They bring them daily now for supper.. Each evening now around 7.30 the mum and Dad bring them I have to have their snacks ready as they dont like waiting lol.Thursday I managed to get all 4 of them obviously in separate photos as when they were together they were under the leaves and the fallen tree trunk.. I waited ages for each one as the camera shutter is quite loud when taking the shots it fires off pretty quickly so sometimes if scares them... However they all took turns to get their snacks so I was able to catch all of them... 3 boys and one girl...I am hoping once they get a little older they won;t be so scared and will let me get a little closer... well well have to see what tomorrow brings...

... had a lovely walk this week along the old lanes that abound around our area. It was a lovely warm June day with lots of sunshine and this seemed to bring out all the butterflies. Sadly most of them wouldnt hold still whilst i got my phone out and took a photo but this lovely obliging Red Admiral butterfly was very obliging! lol Below are two of my Butterfly & Flowers Birdcage 3D Gift Box Card Kit with 3d Decoupage ... All around Australia, silos, water tanks are being painted with the most fantastic artwork. Not only does it show what wonderful artists in this country but it is becoming a lifeline for towns and communities promoting tourism and boosting the economy for many places in regional places.As overseas travel is not an option and in a lot of states borders closed meaning holiday travel is also out of the question. Aussies are being encouraged to holiday in their own state so people are travelling to places theyd not normally visit, therefore taking a trip to some out of the way places is becoming a godsend to places that have been affected by drought, fires and floods. Australias Ultimate Road Trip – The Australian Silo Art Trail is being promoted with country murals, silos, water tank and interesting street art where nothing within 10klms of the city centre of the capital cities is part of the trail. There are now thousands of these artworks around the country and more to come as some artists are now only doing this as a means of an income. When travel restrictions are lifted, if you come to Australia I urge you to put The Australian Silo Art Trail on your must visit itinerary. If you are an Aussie wanting a different experience take the trip and see these murals. They are truly breathtaking and youll help the economy in regional Australia.

Look at the name of this station

With the COVID restrictions relaxing a bit we had a few days away from home. Our Italian holiday was cancelled so we went to Anglesey off the coast of North Wales where we came across this station. (look at the name on the photo) I cant pronounce it but it means The church of St Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St Tysilios of the red cave. The locals dont use this great long name, they just call it Llanfair PG.

Garden! by Sue Way

I love this time of year when all the flowers are starting to bloom. The weather has been awful the last few weeks, but all the rain has made everything grow so fast. I keep stopping to look out of the window and just had to take a picture of this part of the garden the other day as I was passing by the back door. Last year we had a few poppies from seeds that the birds had dropped, so when they finished I shook the seed heads around and now there are so many new poppies coming up. You can see a few of them flowering at the back and I think they will keep coming all through the summer. I have added a few new designs this week. I hope you like them.
