DinoRoar Party by Amanda Assenbruck

We attended a lovely surprise party for our 2 year old grandson. As his first birthday was celebrated during our covid lockdown it was the perfect way to celebrate this year. Going with the chosen theme i made a dinosaur card for him (I think this would be the first time i have ever drawn a dinosaur!). His parents and godfather dressed up as dinosaurs as well which he thought was great. A lovely party ensued with him roaring at everyone. He had been watching Grandpa building something outside and when they opened the doors and he saw that it was a sandpit for him he was so delighted he clapped.A very enjoyable day for all.

A cute dinosaur card for the littlies and a mermaid card for the girls.

Giving the Brush Off! by Janice McFarlane

Lockdown has changed many things for all of us. Strangely I dont know what normal is supposed to be now. It also put a lot of things on hold for everyone. In our church my husband and I attend it was the decorating. Some did get done but a lot didnt for various reasons. Before lockdown my husband had volunteered to decorate the kitchen and toilets. But then we had to shield as both of us have underlying health problems. So now we are slowly getting back to whatever normal is, my husband has picked up the paintbrush yet again. Hes not the greatest decorator but his heart is in the right place. One thing covid has highlighted in our church is the need for more health and safety precautions. Our church kitchen is very small, and on a Sunday before lockdown my husband did the tea and coffee after the service. But people and children for some reason always wanted to squeeze into the small space of the kitchen to have a chat. An accident waiting to happen. So before we all get going fully, my husband asked if a stable door could be fitted, so there is no need for anyone to congregate in the kitchen and keeping everyone safe. He was pleased when it got done quite quickly and his first job was to paint it. At least he doesn;t have to give anyone the brush off now for being in the kitchen as the door cant be opened from the outside.

Billys 3rd Birthday! by Sue Way

Can you believe that my little pup turned three this week? Its gone so fast. He had the best day starting with lots of new teddies and a run on the beach. Later our daughter, son in law and and grandaughters came and gave him more presents and we gave him his main present which was a bubble machine! He has never played bubbles before, so after he got over his shock, he had a great time, running around the garden with the girls catching the bubbles. Happy Birthday Billy! https://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/

The Conservatory at the Bellagio Hotel

Las Vegas by Sandie Burchell

I went to Las Vegas for a couple of nights last week and visited The Conservatory at The Bellagio. We live about 13 miles from Las Vegas but still find it exciting to go up there for a couple of nights now and then. It really makes a nice change. On the first day we walked 8 miles and on the second day 11.5 miles just on the Strip. Good exercise too!We went to the latest exhibition called the Spring Celebrations Around the World at The Conservatory in The Bellagio Hotel and as usual it didnt disappoint! My photograph shows part of the exhibition. each of the flower beds showcase spring from all corners of the world which feature The Chelsea Flower Show, The Washington D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival, the Tulip Festival in Holland and Songkran, The Water Festival in Thailand. The story of each festival is told through flowers, water and artistic recreations using reclaimed elements as well as historical artifacts and references from each region.

The two designs I am promoting this week are my new Room Shaped Card Mini Kits. There are 5 of them and all are on special offer currently. Thank you for looking!. x

The ... by Carol Clarke

.... Bluebells in Bluebell Woods are almost at their best now. Hopefully by next week they will all be out and covering the ground like a thick blue carpet and living up to the name of the Woods. Mind you although the woods are mostly know locally as Bluebell Woods you wont find this name on the map! This small wood really is the very best place to see Bluebells at their best though and far surpass the ones weve seen in other places renowned for their displays. I think its probably best that this is a very well kept secret place to view them though as Im sure an influx of visitors each year would spoil the woods and the habitat of the wildlife too. Below are 2 of my popular Handbag Treat Boxes, some of which were featured recently on Create & Craft TV!

May in the Wide Bay by Vicki Avcin

Last weekend was a long weekend being Monday is the Labour Day Holiday/MayDay so car enthusiasts make the most of it and all come to Hervey Bay for what is known as May in the Wide Bay. Run by Wide Bay Rodders Custom Car Club, this is annual event and even though the name suggests hot rods all custom cars are welcome for this event. The club has a very laid back social atmosphere where folks mix with like minded people and enjoy the camaraderie. This event has several parts to it with these gorgeous cars arriving throughout the week with it all kicking off on Friday night with a Welcome BBQ with live entertainment. Saturday morning there is an Observation Run to show everyone around the local area. Saturday afternoon sees the cars cruisin the Nard (cruising along the esplanade) from 3pm to 6pm where they cruise from one end of the esplanade, approx 6 klms one way, turn round and cruise back (several times) where they can show off their pride and joys and the people can just watch in awe at the various vehicles, supped up, paintwork and sometimes noisy machines. Saturday night is usually spent at one of the local pubs for dinner. Then Sunday morning up early for the Show N Shine (570 cars) which went till about 2pm. Sunday night there is a catered dinner and entertainment before some of them head home although many stay and holiday for a few days. The weather wasnt kind to them this year and most of Saturday was raining but it did clear for Sunday, none the less the show still went on regardless. It really is an awesome show and although its over for 2021, 2022 is greatly anticipated by both those taking part and the people of Hervey Bay.

LILY OF THE VALLEY

1ST MAY TRADITION

by Wanda Lipski

and what a lovely tradition it is to offer Muguet (lily of the valley) as a Porte-BOnheur (good luck charm) on the 1st May. Its the one day in the year when anyone can sell the flower on the streets, on the proviso that it comes from a garden or the woods. The poor specimens in the photo were picked in woods near us. Since it has been so cold here, the little bells werent really out yet, but we keep checking back and look forward to a carpet of these beautiful, odorant flowers. My hubby surprised me with the pot of Muguet on the left - 100% chocolate. Now thats what a call a celebration. Four new tiwst and pop cards up this week, none with lily of the valley but sweet peas are another of my favourite flowers so have a good week and ENJOY!
