Wonder Why……. by Vicki Avcin

A lot of my news items are about rain? Why do I get so excited when we have a decent downpour?Well the photo below shows why. We are in the area of Lowest on Record and its been like that for quite a few years now, so anything that puts a few millimetres in the rain gauge is exciting. We actually got the lawn mower out this week, only the second time in about 18 months! Not only does the grass go green and grows but the few plants I have that arent natives thrive too. My old rose bush has 11 flowers and buds on it, the most I think ever in the 14 years weve been here, and the gerberas and azaleas are all budding or flowering too. I know a lot of UK people often say you can have our rain and wed welcome it if it could be shared. La Nina, which forecasters got so excited about last year, was expected to bring huge amounts of rain but didnt eventuate and they have now said its done and dusted for this year so it was the biggest flop ever! Fortunately though, we didnt get the really bad fire season either apart from the fire on Fraser Is which went for nearly 6 weeks and burnt half the island but we didnt get a lot of fires happening on the mainland all together which was great despite the lack of rain during the fire season.

This weeks designs are two of my aperture designs. They also make great shaker cards. Available for all sorts of occasions so check them all out.

Cute Goslings, And a Question... by Clare Walker

One of the absolute joys of the last few weeks has finally been being able to spend longer outside just sitting, observing nature and enjoying the spring. We were doing that just the other day, when these super-cute goslings and their proud parents came up to the side of a local lake. Our googling suggests they are and were Egyptian geese and goslings. My father, viewing the picture only, suggests they must be a type of duck.Who`s right? In all honesty, I can only be certain of that they were amazingly cute, and that seeing them made our day.

New this week-purple and white anemones and inserts with bonus verses...xx

Boot Sale by Sue Way

Now things are opening up again, hubby went to his first boot sale of the year! It was very well organised, with stalls on one side of each row only. He managed to buy these lovely dressing table vases for only £3. They are art deco, pressed coloured glass and I love them! Now I just need to find somewhere to display them lol We are going to try another boot sale tomorrow, hopefully we will find a few more bargains. I hope you are all keeping safe and well. Thank you for continuing to support us. https://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/

Well .... by Carol Clarke

... After so much lovely sunshine just last week ... Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr ... it was somewhat of a shock to go back to frosty mornings and even some snow and sleet too! Luckily we did get some nice sunshine too but the Northerly wind was sooo bitterly cold it cut through you like a hot knife though butter! Fingers crossed we get more sunshine than sleet and snow this week! lol Below are two of my Cute Critter Treat Boxes. A really fun way to give a gift! ... and theres lots more to choose from too! lol

Hanging Around by Janice McFarlane

Finally lockdown has eased up. I think this one has been a lot harder than the first time around, but weve finally made it. Lets hope this time there is light at the end of the tunnel and we dont have to do it again. Its been good for the children to finally have a little bit, although cautious kind of freedom. Stuck indoors for the most part looking at the same four walls is bad enough for adults, but for the children its been worse as they are more used to playing out or going on days out, even a trip to the park was a no go area. Thankfully now they can get out a little bit and my two grandsons made the most of a trip to the park on the RAF camp where they live. They are a like a couple of monkeys swinging on the bars and the smiles on their faces says it all.

Panthers Playing by Tina Fitch

WELL another week back at RAF Lakenheath.. I cant tell you how lovely it is to get back to what I love doing most..It was beautiful sunny weather which made it more special. No standing in the cold just warm enough to make it worth standingThis was one of the first launches panthers 494th Squadron taking off from runway 06... so you catch them flexing on the way out to get the top shots..I am really looking forward to full lockdown restrictions being lifted,, My next trip to Nellis in Vegas is calling me

Daffodils are blooming in Iowa by Judith Henry

Walks have been important during our shutdown times. We need to keep moving. Spring is always a great time to discover what is available in our yards. The daffodils are in full bloom. I even have spots that have not bloomed for awhile pushing up buds. And right behind them will be the bluebells. Watch for them next week.
