... Have had a few nice sunny and warm days in this past week and we took the opportunity to get out and about in our local area. We were lucky enough to see quite a lot of lovely butterflies like this lovely Peacock Butterfly who was obliging enough to sit still whilst he had his picture taken! lol Sadly the Comma, Brimstone and Tortoiseshell butterflies were mush more skittish and shy!Below are two of my Window Pop Up Cards .... there are lots more to choose from too! lol

I think this last weekend has probably been the weirdest one I can remember. Apart from the fact it was Easter which isnt weird at all, but usually it comes with some expectations. Either we have a lovely sunny one or it pours with rain. Well we did have the sun for a while. In fact it was unusually mild for the time of year. Out came the summer clothes and the barbecues. People flocked to the parks and beaches for picnics. Great, spring had sprung but I wasnt sure where to, come Easter Monday. The temperature dropped, the skies were grey, could have been a typical Bank holiday with plenty of rain; but no, we had a snow and quite heavy flurries on and off for most of the day, with a bit of sun peeking through now and again. It laid for a while l, but thankfully had gone by the following day. A bit of an anomaly for sure, but it certainly gave new meaning to April showers.

Billy the helper by Sue Way

Our Golden Retriever Billy loves to help us with all our jobs, but the latest helpful thing he does is to carry daddies hat home on our walks. As we get to the last few roads, he nudges my hand, then hubbys and tries to pull our gloves off, so hubby gave him his hat to carry. So now he looks at him as we near the end of our road, asking for the hat and carries it home. He is such a helpful boy. I hope you are all keeping safe and well. ....Had a few lovely sunny days this last week and took the opportunity ton get out and about a bit. Like Water off a Ducks Back. by Vicki Avcin

They dont like each other and the pair in the photo seem to think that they live herewhich means the We have 2 pairs of Pacific Black Ducks that are residents here at home. other pair doesnt really get a look in. This pair will shoo them off real fast if they try and come into the front or back yard, often with one grabbing the tailof the non residents until they fly away. This pair arrive around 6.30 every morning lookingfor seed, which we throw out onto the grass. Quite demanding too because they will come tothe front door, sit on the mat and quack or peck at the door till we come out. So although we didnt get the horrendous weather they predicted, this pair love the rain and it hasnt deterred them from still coming demanding breakfast and around 5pm in the afternoon, dinner. Its pretty cool that although it can be raining heavily, these pair never look like they are wet and the water just runs off them. …… so like water off a ducks back as the saying goes. Theyve been coming round for years now and have become quite tame. These ducks can be found pretty much all over Australia and usually live in streams or ponds/dams. Not sure if this pair have ever had babies, but we have foxes around in the bush so maybe the foxes get the babies. It would be awesome if theyd bring a brood up to us one day. And yes they are brown..... but they look black at a distance. As I mentioned the predicted weather I spoke of last week didnt happen. We had 2 days of drizzly to medium rainfall with the wind way below what was forecast. The system moved out to sea and didnt reek the havoc they said it would. Thats good news, as it saturated the ground and good run offs into our major dams with no flooding or damage anywhere.

Rain rain go away! by Judith Henry

Yesterday I spent most of my afternoon sitting on the porch listening to birds, watching the robins pull up worms, bunnies chasing each other and the ducks hunting for a nest location. Then overnight the temperature dropped 15 degrees and the rain came. The only one out is the ducks. And the flowers in the spring garden are pushing up.
