Starting back by Judy Potts

Its been a long 6 months of not designing for me. Ive had alot happen. My son died and it has just been a very sad time for me. Im trying to move forward, I have alot to be thankful for, my grandkids who I have often now and that keeps me busy so I might not always get as many new designs done as I want. But I will always try and get a few done. Here are some of my latest designs.

Such cute little cards for Easter and a beautiful side stepper calender for all days!

The Birthday Boy by Janice McFarlane

How time flies, I think the older we get it seems to zoom by, not that we need it to either. I can hardly believe 9 years ago this beautiful baby boy was born and now he is growing up so fast. Its Alfies second birthday under lockdown rules, so he hasnt been able to do the things his mum and dad would do for him, and it will have been the same for countless others too. But at least he had a little celebration. He is a big fan of the game Fortnite, so that was the theme of his birthday cake, which as you can see he is really pleased with. Hopefully next year will be different for his 10th birthday and he will be able to celebrate in style.

Skipping! by Sue Way

We had a lovely walk on the beach with our granddaughters Jessica and Imogen the other day. They were running around with Billy, our Golden Retriever and picking up interesting looking shells and rocks. We walked back along the promenade. The girls were walking along in front of us when they suddenly held hands and started skipping. It was so lovely to see them looking so happy and carefree. I hope you are all keeping safe and well. Thank you for continuing to support us. https://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/

It Never Rains..... by Vicki Avcin

It Pours! What a week. Last week I mentioned about our wonderful green grass, well its been raining on and off since then, only for us now to get warnings about a low bringing us tremendous amounts from rain from Sunday to next Wednesday. Although this weather system will have all the symptoms of a Cat 1 cyclone, they are assuring us it wont be a cyclone. Strong winds and huge rainfall, they are forecasting, depending on which modelling one looks at, anywhere between 150mm and 300mm with some even showing 400mm of rain. So could be a wild week ahead for us. This is just one of the forecasts…… Just a heads up on the Easter forecast. Wide Bay Areas. On or about Sunday morning (04/04) conditions will start to deteriorate around the northern Wide Bay areas. Torrential rain over a 24-36 hour period will intensify with localised storm force winds on exposed coastal sections of around 65-90km per hour. Expect rainfall amount to be in excess of 300mm+So if we havent been blown or washed away, Ill let you know next week how we went. Of course being in Emergency Services, we are all on standby.

Allotment Diary by Karen Adair

As well as designing, I have other pastimes which I can now spend more time doing, since retiring in 2019. One of these is running my allotment with my husband, which we started just 12 years ago. We had never grown anything before this, so it was quite a challenge, as well as a steep learning curve. Now 12 years on we produce enough vegetables to prep and freeze and last us right through until the following years harvest. We only grow what we eat, and we have 4 grandchildren who not only love to come down and work the plot with us, but who also love their veggies, so thats a bonus! It is hard work, but being outdoors, and getting all that fresh air and exercise is good for the mind as well as the body. I was so thankful that we were allowed to continue with our allotment throughout the covid pandemic, it was a godsend to us during this difficult time, and with the plots spaced so far apart we had no difficulty social distancing from other plot holders. We are busy planning and getting ready to plant our seeds and potatoes for this season, and I cant wait for that first crop of peas, my absolute favourite!

Happy place by Tina Fitch

Well it was a long time coming! Nearly 7 months since I visited so as soon as the Stay at home rules were lifted off I went!Id charged my camera up 3 days before in anticipation I just couldnt wait to get out. First out of the chicks was this beauty The King! 493rds Heritage jet. Loads more came out in fact all Squadrons were out on the ramp ready to own the skies. The weather was just beautiful too . The sun shone and its was quite warm which was just fitting for taking shots. I just hope things stay as they are with the virus slowing so we can get back to some normality. It will probably be hard for some after having to stay in now for nearly a year. Lots of anxiety I should imagine...Anyway thats all from me this week. Happy Easter to you all
