Its Spring! by Deborah Davies

Well its that time again, Spring! We always feel like the house looks tired and the garden needs a shake up. I got sick and tired of housing the cushions from the garden dining set and my sofa set, all stuffed into my downstairs loo! As per photo I decided on a new modern hard plastic shed in grey. I adore it now its built but boy did I need help to put it together!

Some Bunny by Janice McFarlane

Well itss been quite a month in one way or another for me. Mainly health issues of which Im still not 100% but better than I was. During this time I continued to crochet and thought I would do a bunny for Easter, a bit of a take on Peter Rabbit. I never thought when I was taught by my grandmother as a child the basic crocheting techniques, that I would still be doing it, and even developed it over the years from the complex to the simple. The unique thing for me and a blessing is although I am left handed (which would complicate things even more having to reverse the patterns) I actually crochet right handed. Ive since gone on to teach my daughter the basics and she has made some beautiful things, even my grandson wanted to have a go. It is something that I enjoy, and relax into on an evening whilst watching TV.

Book day by Tina Fitch

Well this will be the last book day in Junior school, my twin grandchildren leave this July and go on to senior school. So they went all out this year and went as Thing 1 and 2. I have to say I thought they looked just fab, they worked really hard to get the desired effect..They both were also aware this would be their last and I think they both were a little upset..But come September if everything has gone back to normal theyll be going to their new school, I just cant believe how time flies by so fast. The older you get the faster it goes.

Big Storms.......Finally by Vicki Avcin

Following on from last week when we got all excited about some rain, weve had 2 big storms this week. Still a long way off the 200mm they forecast but well take anything we can get! The first storm happened at 4am on Wednesday morning, waking us with the distant sounds of thunder to the south west. The rain started so we got up to go watch it and the lightning show. It was blowing horizontally at the front of the house so we went out the back, hadnt been there for a minute and there was the biggest flash and crack of thunder that weve heard for probably 4 years. Made us jump and get goosebumps, then bang another one. Something close had to have been struck close by. We have an environmental park at the back of us so thinking it was down there, fortunately with the heavy rain, had a fire started it wouldve been doused quickly. We got about 30mm of rain out of that storm which the whole thing lasted just under half an hour. We went back to bed, listening to the rain and the thunder rolling off out to sea. Then lunchtime on Wednesday, out of the blue another very isolated storm rolled over us bringing another 30mm of rain. Very little thunder in this one but some strong winds and it passed over within about 10 mins. So very grateful for the 60mm of rain but it was nothing like the nearly 300mm that Brisbane had over about 3 days straight. There is a lot of flooding around the southside of Brisbane and the Gold Coast Hinterland, where roads have been cut, and even landslides where several houses are teetering on the edge of a cliff now. So far they havent slid so they were very lucky. Major flooding has also happened in NSW where whole houses have been washed away. One while one couple was off getting prepared to be married that day when they saw their house on TV floating down the river. This whole rain event along the eastern seaboard of Australia is being called a rare event being the way the weather patterns happened and was coastal, unlike when major flooding usually happens more inland and the water comes down the rivers to the coast.

This weeks cards are from my DL range and could be used for a variety of occasions like Mothers Day, Birthday or even an Anniversary.

Look .... by Carol Clarke

.... Who we saw on a short walk in our local woods! We were just strolling along the line of an old railway track when this lovely deer crossed our path a short way in front of us and wandered over to the woods on the other side of the track bed. I guess it must have been used to seeing people as it didnt appear to be spooked and looked up at us a few times! lol It really made our day though weve been there many times this is the first time wed seen the deer! Below are two of my popular On The shelf designs ... The cards that really do sit on the shelf! lol

2011 2.0 Weather Event by Amanda Assenbruck

We were a bit sad after not getting the good summer rain we were forecast. On the weekend the ants were building up their nests and i joked to hubby we were going to get a flood. Well the ants were right! A weather systemcoming up from down south brought us 166 mm over two days. While we are heartbrokenfor those adversely affected we are thankful our dam is now full (had been empty for 2 years) andwe may be able to have cattle again soon. The pic is of the water at the bottom of our road, the road turns 90 degrees on the left andwas under water for another 500 m to the bitumen. The last time we saw water like this was duringthe 2011 floods brought about from a cyclone coming down from up North.

9 WONDERFUL YEARS by Wanda Lipski

Since my husband had Covid, he no longer brings me breakfast in bed (yes, wasnt I the lucky one) as we have breakfast together as he now actually breakfast. What a surprise to come down to this, with a cake and a candle, photos of our wedding on the table and my little lemon tree. Fortunately I had spotted it hidden outsidethe day before, otherwise I would have forgotten. It have me the chance to design a card for him that you can use for any wedding anniversary ... I mean what do you do for 9 years! 9 wonderful years with him and 14 waiting for him to pop the question!!! Hope you enjoy the card I made for him.

Obviously I couldnt see my children this mothers day, but they still spoilt me with gifts. Kelly bought me a beautiful flower solar light for the garden. I have wanted one for ages and I love it. Tony sent me a hamper full of tea time treats of macarons, cake, different biscuits, chocolates and the most delicious salted caramel chocolate bar! I hope you are all keeping safe and well.
