Ice hockey solution by Judith Henry

Even though our town just built a new ice hockey arena, its not always available for young kids to use. One solution is to build your own mini space. Our neighbors started building a space and we all wondered what it was going to be. Put up in November made me think he was getting ready for a big garden. Then the boards were added so, was it a raised bed? A week ago we got our first snow and freezing temperatures. Each day we watched and waited. Today the hockey goal was added.

What a Diamond by Janice McFarlane

Well, Christmas seems like it was months ago, and new year... what new year? Back in lockdown again, and schools closed. What a nightmare for the children. This year when buying gifts for my granddaughters Evie and Darcey, I put thought into what they might like to have a go at. Both are very arty but there is an age difference. Darcey is 13 and Evie (pictured) is 8. With us in and out of lockdown, I thought about what would keep them occupied for a while, but they would have something beautiful at the end of it. I decided to buy them Diamond Painting canvases as well the equipment. Both of them got a few canvases as well as storage bags, tools, trays and light box. Obviously the canvases were appropriate to their age. I even bought one for myself to try, although goodness knows when I will find the time to have a go. Evie is pictured getting to down to starting her unicorn picture. Her and her mum watched a couple of Youtube videos and off she went. Oh the concentration, even Stephanie my daughter said Evie allowed her to do a corner lol, which she found quite therapeutic. I look forward to seeing both evie and Darceys work once completed.

clouds by Anne Lever

I saw these amazing clouds recently and I had to take a photo to show everybody here. It looks like the shapes sand makes just under the water on a beach. Fabulous! The pattern went across the whole of the sky, must have been some unusual wind patterns up there!

Sunshine .... by Carol Clarke

... and Snow! We had a lovely walk though the woods and forest near us on New Years Eve. It had snowed 2 days earlier and there was still a lovely frosting where the sun hadnt managed to to reach and melt it yet. It was quite misty when we set out and it was a lovely surprise when the sun came out. We went round a ben in the forest and were surprised with the most wonderful sight of the sun shining though the trees! I just had to take a photo ... and then lo and behold it happened again and again in different locations all within a mile or so!

My best crafting buddy!!!! by Joan King

Today my grand daughter Brooklyn who is 5 phoned me and asked if she could come around to spend some time with me. I can never refuse. She loves crafting and today I was making up some craft supplies for an order using my Big Shot Plus die cutter. I have never let her use it as it would be too heavy for her to turn the handle. She settled down with me and asked me what I was doing so I showed her how I was making fancy blank cards. Well it didnt take her long to want to be part of what I was doing. We all know what young children can be like, they never like to listen to instructions to keep themselves safe and of course they know everything. I told her that once it came out of the machine I then had to pop out all the pieces with a fine point tool. I was somewhat nervous about her wanting to do this herself as if she wasnt careful she could stick the tool into her fingers or hand but she had listened to me and repeated everything I said and told me she would be careful because she didnt want to hurt herself. I couldnt believe she had listened to me so I let her have a go and my goodness she certainly knew what she was doing and she kept her left hand well away from the piercing tool and got rid of all the pieces and cleaned up after herself. She has become my new crafting buddy and she didnt want to go home. I carried on this afternoon on my own and I realised how much I missed her help as it meant I had to do everything myself...... Here is a photo of her just getting ready to go home. Each time she comes we do something different in crafting. What to do next I wonder.

Walk, walk, walk! by Sue Way

That is all we can do for entertainment at the moment. We walk Billy everyday day anyway, which certainly keeps up busy. My daughter has been making sure she and her husband take our granddaughters for a walk every day to get some fresh air and exercise. They live in a lovely little seaside town, so its a pleasure to walk there. She has taken some lovely pictures of them out and about, but I really love this one of the two girls paddling in the sea in their wellington boots, with the towns famous tower behind them. I hope you are all keeping safe and well. Thank you for continuing to support us. https://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/

Just a baby. by Vicki Avcin

Recently while I was down in Brisbane, I got to meet the newest member of the family, my grandfurbaby Nakia. She is just a puppy at 7 months of age and already a big girl. Nakia is a Cane Corso and will grow even more before being a grown up. They are an Italian breed from Roman origins and are protective of their family but social at heart. They are a fairly new breed to Australia, only being recognised by the Australian National Kennel Club since 2003. Males usually are around 50 kg while females weigh in around 45kg when fully grown.Nakia took immediately to us and just as well the family had a big lounge because when she wants to be a lap dog there isnt much room left but she smothered us in doggy kisses (licks around the head) and certainly loves her cuddles. The family will eventually show her and after that will breed from her. Given there are not a lot of the breed around yet in Australia, her puppies will be very much sort after. She has a beautiful temperament and definitely a family orientated puppy. Im in love!!!
